74w ago - Gameshastra Creative Director and Producer Vijay Ragahavan announced today that Kite Fight takes to the skies on PlayStation 3 next week.

To quote: Reliving your childhood experiences can become quite cumbersome at times, what with all those pesky troubles and annoyances adulthood has to offer. You can hardly find the time to indulge in, say, for instance - some kite flying. Sounds like a bit of work doesn't it?

But there's an easy way out. On 29th May, we'll be releasing Kite Fight. Developed here at [Register or Login to view links] - host to titles like Dare to Fly, Don 2 and many others - it brings you the ultimate casual experience on PlayStation Move. So why don't you kick back, ease into that comfy chair, arm yourself with a Move controller and get ready to fly a kite!

Priced at €4.99/£3.99, Kite Fight was developed to introduce today's gamers to the fine art of flying kites. A sport that was only recognised and played in festivals is now being bought to the world.

Hands on with The Last of Us on PlayStation 3: Whatever It Takes

50°
74w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman went hands on today with The Last of Us on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

Below are the details, to quote: I'm low on ammo, so I clumsily swing my two-by-four at the incoming Clicker - dumb move. The creature sinks its fetid teeth into my jugular, chirping with malevolent glee as it rips out a gobbet of flesh. Arterial blood spurts across my face, now contorted in shock and agony.

I'm dead. This time, I try a different approach. I combine one of my remaining rags and a precious bottle of alcohol to create a Molotov cocktail, then hurl it towards the abomination. Flames envelop the lumbering shape as it wails and collapses, dead at last. I'm alive - for a little while longer.

The Last of Us isn't afraid to kill you, over and over if need be. And that's a big part of its considerable charm. As you struggle to survive the game's inhospitable world, limping from one nail-biting combat scenario to the next, you'll feel strangely alive and alert.

In an era of game development that - at least to this old-timer - tends to babysit players with tutorials and handholding to dial down any chance of frustration, this game's unapologetically tough-as-nails approach feels both refreshing and quietly revolutionary. Remember when games used...

Video: Air Conflicts: Vietnam Takes Flight on PS3 Later This Year

79w ago - BitComposer Games PR Manager Daniel Kraub shared a video today announcing that Air Conflicts: Vietnam takes flight on PS3 later this year.

Below are the details, to quote: I'd like to introduce you to Air Conflicts: Vietnam - the latest addition to our Air Conflicts line, due for release in the third quarter of 2013 for PlayStation 3.

Breaking away from the World War theme, our upcoming game turns to Vietnam where we feel there is huge potential for a whole new air combat experience.

Vietnam brings a new perspective and fresh impetus to the series, introducing legendary jet planes such as the F-4 Phantom and the infamous B-52, along with the thrill of supersonic dog-fighting, heat-seeking missiles, carpet bombing, and laser-guided munitions.

In addition to the new supersonic flight capability, we resurrect the iconic helicopters of the era - the immortal UH-1 Huey, the brutal AH-1 Cobra, and even the steadfast CH-47 Chinook and CH-53 Sea Stallion for transport and rescue operations.

Air Conflicts: Vietnam is unparalleled by any other flight game on the market, offering a strikingly diverse range of mission objectives, entirely new easy-to-handle control mechanics designed for supersonic aircraft and helicopters, and breathtaking visuals to immerse the...

Video: Defiance Takes a Stand on PlayStation 3 on April 2nd, 2013

50°
90w ago - Trion Worlds Director of Community Elizabeth Tobey has posted up a video trailer today confirming that Defiance will be taking a stand on PlayStation 3 on April 2nd, 2013.

To quote: Defiance, the upcoming massive online third person shooter in development at Trion Worlds, will be available on PlayStation 3 Tuesday, April 2nd.

In a mere matter of weeks, you and your friends will brave the wilds of the San Francisco Bay Area, hunting down precious arktech, taking down mutants and alien monsters, and battling with and against hundreds of other players.

Not only will Defiance be available worldwide on April 2nd for gamers everywhere, our sister show on Syfy will launch the same month.

Set in St. Louis, the series will chronicle the lives of humans and aliens in St. Louis. Since the show and game take place at the same time, both show and game will overlap the weeks pass. Defiance premieres Monday, April 15th at 9:00pm / 8:00pm Central.

Earth isn't a safe place anymore. After the terraforming and wars that followed the arrival of the alien Votans, it became a dangerous place, barely recognizable as the Earth we once knew. As an Ark Hunter, you'll have a special set of skills to give you a...

Video: Dancing Dots: Take Rotastic for a Spin Tomorrow on PSN

50°
98w ago - Dancing Dots Managing Director Martial Hesse-Dreville has shared a new video trailer today inviting fans to take Rotastic for a spin tomorrow on PSN.

To quote: This is Martial Hesse-Dreville from Dancing Dots, here to tell you about our game - Rotastic - arriving on PSN tomorrow!

Now, how to best sum up what Rotastic is all about... well - imagine a knight. Got it? Good. Now give him a rope with a hook. Ok? Very well... now swing that knight around 80 levels filled with jewels and gems to collect.

Sounds simple? Well, maybe then I should tell you about the hundreds of deadly traps, cannons, razor-sharp blades, crazy chickens, black holes, flying dragons, and killer bats... it won't be easy!

The whole idea behind Rotastic is simple: we wanted to provide tons of fun while using a very simple game mechanic, and I think it worked. Using just one button, you latch your grappling hook onto the nearest anchor point, many of which are scattered around each level.

This swings you around to propel your knight through the stage, catching gems while avoiding traps and dodging enemies. With 80 levels (including 10 exclusive new levels for PlayStation 3!) of increasing difficulty, you can be sure...
