Video: Ms Germinator Defeats Disease on PlayStation Network Soon

50°
65w ago - Creat Studios Technical Director Jason Benham posted up a video today announcing that Ms Germinator will be defeating disease on PlayStation Network soon!

To quote: When game sequels start with "Ms.," you should generally expect a similar - but better - game than the original. And that's absolutely the case with Ms. Germinator. She'll be arriving on PS3 and PS Vita very soon, with more power-ups, more modes, and, well, more style than her gruff counterpart.

And, we should mention, this is our first cross-buy title. That's more Ms. Germinator for your money!

Ms. Germinator takes antibacterial exploits to new extremes. You will inflate and pop vast colonies of colorful germs growing on your stuff, while skillfully using the new power-germs to devastating effect.

Here, the level shapes synchronize closely with the lush, cartoony backdrops - disinfect your dog's bowl, up close and personal.

There are literally hundreds of challenging levels in Campaign, Puzzle, Arcade, and Duel multiplayer all in need of disinfection. Have you got what it takes to 3-star them all?

Frozen and contagious germs will muddy the waters, while teleporters (yes, they've finally been invented) and circular reflectors will make your brain hurt.

Heck, we even threw...

Sony Announces Puppeteer Demo is Coming Soon to PlayStation 3

50°
69w ago - Today Sony Worldwide Studios Art Director Gavin Moore announced that a Puppeteer demo is coming soon to PlayStation 3 fans.

To quote: We're getting closer and closer to the release of Puppeteer! In preparation for release, I'm happy to announce that a playable demo demonstrating the essence of Puppeteer's gameplay will be made available in Europe prior to launch.

We plan on packing loads of content into the demo, and we hope it will give you a great idea of how the finished game will feel when it hits PlayStation 3 on 11th September.

While we're on the topic of demos, maybe some of you have heard of Puppeteer's 'Rehearsal Edition', which releases on Japan's PlayStation Store this week.

The Rehearsal Edition is not a traditional game demo but rather a uniquely regional way to introduce the world of Puppeteer.

The brief interactive stage specially designed for this concept gives Japanese gamers a peak behind the curtain at the cast of Puppeteer as they prepare for the 'big show'. The characters can be seen busily rehearsing while the crew put together the elaborate set pieces to be used in the bunraku - or 'puppet theatre' - that serves as the game's setting.

In order to let Japanese players fully soak in the atmosphere,...

Coconut Dodge Revitalised is Coming Soon to PlayStation Vita

50°
75w ago - Futurlab Programmer Robin Jubber confirmed today that Coconut Dodge Revitalised is coming soon to PlayStation Vita with details below.

To quote: If you've been noticing isn't a huge game in coding terms - it isn't even as big as the code for Velocity's menu system - but making it was fun and everybody who played the test versions enjoyed it.

In the week before release we were still cramming in extra modes and polishing gameplay - you do that when something is dear to you and you're working as part of a small team.

Without the ease of development on a fixed system, the mature Sony libraries and their technical support - not to mention somewhere to actually release the game (the Minis platform) - Coconut Dodge would never have been made and FuturLab would be yet another brief blip in the gaming landscape of failed software devs.

Or even worse James would have returned to making Flash games and I'd still be dancing naked for coins down the docks.

Coconut Dodge came out at the turn of the decade and won plaudits and even mentions in Kotaku and IGN. It opened doors which we then pushed open even further with Velocity - which was inspired by many of the mechanics in Coconut Dodge. Unusually the game was popular with both guys and girls -...

Fallen Tree Games Reveals Quell Memento Sliding to PS Vita Soon

50°
77w ago - Fallen Tree Games Art Director Lewis Boadle revealed today that Quell Memento is sliding to PS Vita soon!

To quote: In developing Quell Memento for PS Vita, we realized that the project was first started 20 years ago!

You see, the game prototype was originally created on an Amstrad CPC computer, way back in 1993! Having said that, it was very different back then - it was called "Last of the Smileys" and was a lot more 8-bit in style.

As we set about improving the game for a modern release, we knew that we wanted to have a much more unique visual style. After much discussion, we decided upon a gentle old-fashioned look, in part because we read that the human brain is more intelligent when it is relaxed.

Quell Memento is intended to feel familiar, and to evoke feelings of nostalgia. After all, a game called Memento is always going to be about memories!

For this reason, we wanted all the elements to be recognizable from the real world (water droplets, pearls and roses, for example). This would mean, we felt, that the player is able to establish the rules of play quickly, because they know that a pearl is valuable, or that a thorn will likely burst a droplet.

We also decided that the puzzles would be set within an old abandoned house. What could...

Video: Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery Coming Soon to PS Vita

50°
77w ago - Lucid Games Founder Nick Davies announced today alongside a video trailer that Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is coming soon to PS Vita.

Below are the details, to quote: Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is an episodic PS Vita adventure brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles.

We're delighted to show you some screens from the game, and give you some insight into the world of Jacob Jones.

So firstly, the polite thing to do would be to introduce you to our hero, although he's a slightly younger hero than you may be used to. Without further ado, meet Jacob Jones, the latest arrival at Camp Eagle Feather, the newest and best Summer Camp.

Now Jacob isn't one to mix with other kids - he prefers the great outdoors and the company of his parents, so spending his summer with a load of weird kids at Summer Camp isn't exactly his idea of fun. However, when he stumbles upon the mysterious Bigfoot, his summer takes on a whole new twist.

Developed using the powerful Unreal Engine 3, it has a charming visual style and a artistically unique world which is inhabited by vinyl toy characters. Coupled with this we have all of the technical bells and whistles...
