Sony Offers a Closer Look at LittleBigPlanet 3's New PS4 Characters

50°
11w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton offers a closer look today at LittleBigPlanet 3's new PS4 characters with details below, as follows:

One of the big surprises of E3 week was seeing LittleBigPlanet 3 unveiled live on stage during the PlayStation media briefing.

If you haven't got yourself up to speed already, Sackboy is all set to make his PS4 debut this November. Along with a raft of new features for Create mode, the major new additions to the series come in the form of three new playable characters: Swoop, Oddsock and Toggle.

"We've spent a long time working on the characters," explained XDev's Pete Smith backstage at LA. "Not just making sure that they look distinctive but also that they each offer unique gameplay. That, for me, is the big thing.

We want people to go 'Wow, they really change up the game, and I can create totally new experiences with them'.

"We were also keen to make sure that they were very iconic from a silhouette point of view, so that when you look at them together you can instantly tell them apart. Yet we still wanted them to feel like they were part of the Sackboy family, rather than just a watered down version of the same character."

Indeed, having played through hugely enjoyable E3 demo a few times over, I can confirm that...

Sony Announces Pre-Order, Pre-Load Upcoming PS4 Games

50°
11w ago - Sony Network Entertainment Digital Distribution Manager Chieh Chen announced PS4 pre-order and pre-load details for their upcoming PlayStation 4 games today!

To quote: Last week during E3 2014, 10 PS4 games that were announced or featured at the show had pre-orders go live on PlayStation Store, and I'm thrilled to let you all know that each of those games will take advantage of PS4's automatic pre-load feature.

Automatic pre-load on PS4 allows you to download pre-ordered games before the release date, so you can get into your games after they're released faster than ever.

We all know that some of the biggest games can take a while to download, and with the pre-load functionality, you'll be able to download and install those huge files up to several days in advance.

And don't worry if you forget: any titles you've pre-ordered will be automatically pre-loaded and auto-downloaded to your PS4 system by default. All you have to do is pre-order the game, make sure your PS4 remains in standby mode, and sit back and relax.

You won't have to wait long to try this new feature out - Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, which launches on June 24th, will be the first PS4 title to take advantage of automatic pre-load. Additionally, all titles made available for pre-order...

12w ago - Kingdom Under Fire II Director and Producer Sang Youn Lee posted up a video trailer below today announcing Kingdom Under Fire II is coming to PS4.

To quote: I'm Sang Youn Lee, Producer and Director of Kingdom Under Fire II. I've developed Kingdom Under Fire I, Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders, and N3.

Kingdom Under Fire II is brand new, action RTS, in which players can control both troops and the hero at the same time. As a free-to-play MMO, players can evolve from a unknown mercenary up to the ultimate ruler of the world, and also players can explore massive scale battlefields together with friends.

We've developed Kingdom Under Fire II as a successor to previous games in both story and gameplay. Basic troop strategy and action strategy play like the two former games. Furthermore, we developed the gameplay elements so players can focus more on action strategy.

The story of Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders and Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes are based on the vast story of the Bersia continent. Kingdom Under Fire II starts its story in Bersia where approximately 120 years has passed since Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders.

Lots of things have changed for 120 years. Regnier, the powerful hero in Kingdom...
