400°
91w ago - Capcom Product Manager Mike Lunn has announced today that next Wednesday (Tuesday in North America) Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD is hitting PSN and will be 50% off for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

To quote: More classic Resident Evil horror is heading to the PlayStation Network next week with Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD! Claire Redfield, after narrowly escaping Raccoon City, is searching for her brother Chris.

Captured while sneaking around an Umbrella facility and snooping for leads, Claire is hauled off to a maximum security prison installation on Rockfort Island. While making her escape, she realizes the island is being overrun by zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons.

Claire meets another prisoner, Steve Burnside, who is also looking to escape ... but will they be able to work together to make it out alive? The island is veiled in secrets and the family behind the Umbrella Corporation has a deadly agenda of their own. Relive the survival horror classic available via PlayStation Network on Wednesday, Sept. 28th.

As we mentioned last week, we've got even more RE deals for PlayStation fans to help celebrate Resident Evil's 15th anniversary. For PlayStation Plus members, we're offering the same 50-percent-off...

New Resident Evil Revealed in PlayStation: The Official Magazine

200°
115w ago - Today Editor in Chief Gary Steinman of the PlayStation: The Official Magazine has revealed news of a new Resident Evil for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system alongside a video trailer below!

To quote: Who needs to wait for E3? It's a month of massive reveals in the May issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine.

We start with our cover story, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

First, a quick note about what Raccoon City is not. Raccoon City is not a survival horror game. Go on--let that sink in for a second. Yes, the granddaddy of survival horror breaks from the very thing that's defined it for over 15 years, instead delivering a wholly unique squad-based shooter experience, with the talented folks at Slant Six now handling the development duties.

We saw the game in action and survived to tell a tale of shambling zombies, elite operatives, and a mission to "kill Leon." Indeed, nothing is sacred here, including the long-standing heroes of the Resident...

Video: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition for PS3 and PlayStation Move

350°
139w ago - Today Product Manager Matt Dahlgren shares an in-depth video peek at how Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition works with the PlayStation Move PS3 motion controller.

To quote: Recently we had the PlayStation team into our office for an in-depth demo of how the PlayStation Move motion controller works with Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Check out the video below to see how these new controls work.

For those who don't know, when the PlayStation Move controller became available, Capcom released a free update for Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition owners that implements new control options into the game which provide a more immersive and intuitive experience.

Now you can use the PlayStation Move controller to aim with ease as you take down the hoards of Majini that have taken over Kijuju.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is available in stores now and in addition to the entire Resident Evil 5 experience, the Gold Edition includes two new episodes, four new costumes, an online Versus Mode, and a newly reworked Mercenaries Reunion mode. The PlayStation Move motion controller works with all modes.

PlayStation Move Hands-on: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition for PS3

200°
151w ago - Today Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a hands-on PlayStation Move preview of Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition for PS3.

To quote: At last week's PlayStation event in NYC, I was pleased to see Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition make an appearance -- complete with the new PlayStation Move control scheme.

I grabbed a PlayStation Move and a Navigation Controller and dove into a combat sequence several chapters into the game. Several details quickly became apparent:

Aiming is much, much easier. I was able to pop headshots, even at long ranges, with impressive accuracy using the PlayStation Move's reticule aiming. You move your character with an analog stick (via the Navigation Controller or a DualShock 3), then squeeze the trigger on the PlayStation Move to draw your weapon. Once your shot is lined up, you press the Move button with your thumb to fire the shot. Easy!

From what I played, the new PlayStation Move aiming controls will be a big help to players who had difficulty adjusting to Resident Evil 5's default analog stick control scheme.

Knifing is easier, too. In the original version of Resident Evil 5, swinging your knife was...
