200°
135w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has announced today that Foosball 2012 will be hitting both PS3 and PS Vita, and will include PS Move and Cross Play support!

To quote: Hi everybody! This is Jakub from Grip Games, the folks who brought you The Impossible Game, MiniSquadron and One Epic Game. We are back to present you our newest creation - Foosball 2012 for PS3 and PS Vita.

As you have probably guessed - it is a table football ("foosball") game. The very first one for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, so we made sure that we packed it up with lots of features and game modes, like various kinds of tables (American style, European style), customizations, ball types and trick shots to keep you entertained and experimenting for hours.

The World Tour single-player mode will let you travel across the globe and challenge AI opponents in nearly 30 locations. More social players can look forward to a local multiplayer for up to four and online multiplayer, where you can match against the rest of the world and rank up to become the table football champion.

PlayStation Move is also supported on PS3. If you own this magic wand, you can control Foosball 2012 exactly like you would control a real table football, with 1:1 movement...

PS3 to Support Sony VPL-VW1000ES 4K Projector via FW Update

550°
159w ago - According to Engadget.com (linked above), the PS3 will support Sony's VPL-VW1000ES 4K Projector stills following a future PlayStation 3 Firmware update, however, moving pictures will still remain out of reach for the time being.

To quote: Once you've cleared the $25k or so in your budget that it will take to snag one of [Register or Login to view links] your next problem will be finding some 4096x2160 res content to view on it.

While showing off the new beamer for its Japanese audience at CEATEC today, Sony announced the PS3 will get a firmware update around the beginning of 2012 that will allow it to natively output 4K stills.

There's a PlayView "visual magazine" already available on the PlayStation store in Japan that supports 4K and 3D, but this update will bring super high res viewing of your vacation pics, or any other high res image files you can snag, to the living room.

While your friends will no doubt be impressed by the museum-quality art gala you're now capable of hosting, we're starting the timer for 4K video sources - if we don't hear anything concrete at CES then we'll...

Video: Crysis Assaults PSN Today with 3D Support, Launch Trailer

400°
159w ago - Crytek UK Senior Designer Alex Hood has shared some new PS3 video trailer footage below of Crysis, which assaults PSN today with 3D support!

To quote: It is very exciting for me to be able to say that the original Crysis is coming to the PS3! Some of you may be wondering how we are going to bring the large open environments that Crysis is known for to console.

The expansive jungle sections, the pure white sand beaches, the open vehicle levels... maybe you're shaking your head that it cannot be done. I'm here to tell you that we've accomplished this and you will be able to experience the remastered, single-player campaign for Crysis on October 4th in North America and October 5th in Europe.

So how did we do it? As Egg Shen said, it wasn't easy! Without the power of the CryENGINE 3, we would never have attempted it, but with fully deferred lighting, a PS3-specific rendering pipeline and SPU-enhanced physics code, together with more efficient memory layouts and more intelligent algorithms, we brought the experience of Crysis to consoles without compromise.

With that said, we didn't just want to port the game straight onto console; we wanted to make sure we tailored the experience to suit it. We've brought the Crysis 2 Nanosuit...

Video: Eskiss PS3 Homebrew Game Update with PS Move Support

250°
160w ago - Today PlayStation 3 hacker KaKaRoToKS has updated the Eskiss PS3 Homebrew Game with PlayStation Move support for PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware users alongside a video below.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

To quote: Hi all, I'm releasing Eskiss with Move support and I think the instructions on how to use it require a bit more than what twitter allows (from my usual small updates).

You can download here the Eskiss package for PS3 3.55, and here the package for PS3 3.41.

The instructions are simple, you can still play with a normal mouse if you want, or use the controller to emulate the mouse, just like before. But, if you have a PS Eye camera plugged in, then it will also be ready to handle the Move.

If it detects a move controller, the ball on the controller will be white, at that point, you must press the Action button while pointing the controller to the camera (there's no image feedback on the screen, so just point and press the action button). This will calibrate the controller and...
