MultiMAN v04.01.00 DEX Update Mod (20120204) PKG is Released

Above 1500°
142w ago - This weekend an anonymous PlayStation 3 developer has made available a MultiMAN v04.01.00 DEX Update Mod (20120204) PKG for those who own PS3 Debug / Test consoles and wish to enable game back-ups on it.

To quote: You need to install the mmCM v04.01.00 released yesterday first on your DEX, then run this UPD PKG to get multiMAN to now run & play games from your HDD

This makes the mmCM function as normal multiMAN on DEX machines running 3.55 just like on CEX, but of course without the Cobra exclusive functions!

Not much more can be said about this release, but it seems to work on QA flag'ed CEX machines also thanks to LV2_Loader and the previous dexl0ve posting

144w ago - Following up on the previous update of my PS3 4.00 Dev_Flash mod, today I've released version 2 of my PS3 4.00 HFW (Hybrid Firmware).

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

Change Log:

Version 2:

  • Adds "Debug XMB Items" to the XMB Column "PlayStation Network" (contains the Debug items found in this column, originally for DEX)
  • Removes the useless "PlayStation Plus" XMB item from the XMB Column "PlayStation Network"
  • Disables Cinavia DRM on all media except Blue-ray.

Version 1:

  • Adds DeViL303's "XMB File Manager" to the XMB Column "Game"
  • Adds "/app_home/PS3GAME/" to the XMB Column "Game" (has no function at the moment, but is here for completeness)

Installation Instructions are the same as before:

1. Be on a firmware 3.55 or less
2. Install the .pup through the XMB (Make sure you have a working hardware flasher as there is no other way to downgrade)

Remember only retail signed .pkg can be installed with this. Have fun. THIS HFW WILL NOT ALLOW HOMEBREW!

144w ago - Sorry for being quiet the last few days guys, but I'm still working on things for AC1D CFW and also found some changes to newer PUPs so I have modded the source of KaKaRoToKS Fix_TAR to reflect this in the Fix TAR v3 PS3 homebrew application for Retail and Debug 4.0 Firmware.

To quote, roughly translated: "Very soon after its released version 4.00 debug Sony decides to release a Firmware 4.01 for stamped its consoles Test / Debug. We remind you that this type of firmware is not installed on the consoles so-called "Retail" we just buy in the store.

No changelog available at this time. See us before long a 4.01 in our living room, only time will tell. The file is available for download if you want to update your console to Test / Debug."

As always, these PUP updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and...

PS3 Debug / Test Firmware 3.74 and 4.00 Updates Surface

1350°
146w ago - For those who own PS3 Debug / Test consoles or are simply into collecting PlayStation 3 file leaks, recently PS3 Debug / Test Firmware 3.74 surfaced alongside version 4.00 from Sony's North American Press Web site.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

If you didn't know, the address to their Press site is [Register or Login to view links] and Sony offers free access to all members of the press there using SCEA / SC3APR to login and obtain the latest press releases and related files.

Finally, keep in mind these PUP updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and so they are intended for examination and comparison purposes only.

We have 100% confirmed that running this updater on a retail PS3 will not damage it, however, it will give the following error before the installation completes: The data type is not supported. (8002F029)

Special Thanks to ConsoleDev for the heads-up on the news tip!
