Video: Lost Persona Chapter Persona 2: Innocent Sin Hits PSP

200°
170w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today alongside a video trailer that Lost Persona Chapter Persona 2: Innocent Sin is hitting Sony's PSP handheld console.

To quote: We're willing to guess that until someone finally dares to make The Adventures of Methuselah Jones, it'll be hard to find a game that's been anticipated by fans for over a decade.

That's right, back in 1999–in between all those exciting millennium parties, of course–a new chapter in the acclaimed Persona series of roleplaying games came out in Japan and was ultimately never published in North America. This "lost" chapter, long anticipated by fans of Atlus, the series, and RPGs in general, is extremely overdue.

Apart from one other game coming out this year that has teased and tortured its fanbase for a similarly agonizing stretch of time (you know, the one that wants bubble gum but is out of it), there really isn't much else out there that fans have been waiting as long for.

Which is why we're so excited to announce that the wait is nearly over. [Register or Login to view links], or rather, an enhanced version of it for PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, is finally coming to North America!

175w ago - Today Ghostlight Community Manager Ross Brierley has made available a video spotlighting Persona 3 Portable, which is coming to PSP consoles in Europe on April 29, 2011.

To quote: I am very excited to announce the upcoming release of [Register or Login to view links], the excellent PSP version of the critically acclaimed and award winning JRPG.

From the opening cut scene, Persona 3 Portable draws you into its unsettling world allowing you to explore the deep contrast between your character's everyday school life and the mysterious Dark Hour, a time hidden between one day and the next where terrible creatures lurk.

As a member of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, you have the ability to cross over to the Dark Hour where you can wield a special innate power - your Persona. When the Dark Hour comes, reality crumbles away.

Your school mutates into a sinister and perilous tower known as Tartarus and the people around you transmogrify into coffins whilst the evil Shadow creatures prey on those who wander unsuspectingly into their realm. Using the powers of your Persona, it is your sole aim to root out the cause of the Dark Hour and protect all humanity from certain doom.

To quote: yes, i made this nice app portable myself. no need to install anything, no activetcl nor the app itself or the keys. it is all integrated and it runs from any directory.

i did it cause i had problems with the temp folders and i have a SSD, which doesn't like heavy temporary writings. i've already talked about it with kakaroto and he said i should open a new thread, so no problem from his side. he also gave me 2 new plugins to extract and change the coldboot_multi.ac3 and the coldboot_stereo.ac3, the bootsound from the ps3.

edit: thank you very much kakaroto, you're one of the best...

Sony Confirms PS3 Game NGP Ports Will Be Simple and Quick

550°
185w ago - According to Edge Magazine via CVG, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that PS3 game ports to NGP (Next Generation Portable) will be both simple and quick for developers.

To quote: Today, many teams are familiar with the PS3 and are used to including a variety of effects in their titles.

"Based on this expertise - and also the working habits they developed working on the PS3 - we had to make development on the NGP as natural as possible - an extension of the PS3, if you will.

"So the three demos you've seen - Lost Planet 2, Ryu Ga Gotoku [Yakuza] and MGS4 - they prove porting is simple and quick, but it doesn't mean that's all you can expect. My view of NGP isn't just as a platform for porting PS3 titles."
