Video: Promote Real Music in BigFest on PlayStation Vita

50°
14w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino invites PlayStation Vita fans to promote real music in BigFest on PS Vita in a video trailer below.

To quote: Revealed at Gamescom 2013 for PS Vita, BigFest is about building your own festival that will promote real, unsigned bands. Players will go on a journey with the bands with the goal of building their own thriving festival and becoming the most successful promoter in the world.

Do you have what it takes to discover the next big thing, and take them to the top of the charts?

Before you take a band to the top, you'll need to give them a platform, and that means building the best festival you can. Starting with a small stage in a field, it's up to the player to build their festival their way.

Choose the basics from shops and stalls to earn money and use that money to enhance your festival by installing the right speakers, lights and video screens, increasing the "vibe" as you go.

The levels themselves are run as Festival "Posters," with headliners and support acts. Some Posters will let you play whatever music you want while others will have specific needs to succeed. Visitors to a rock festival will have different needs to those at a dance...

50°
15w ago - Curve Studios PR and Marketing Manager Rob Clarke shared a video today introducing Schrodinger in MouseCraft on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: We always planned MouseCraft on PS Vita to be an accessible, well designed, gameplay-driven game, but the most eye-catching aspect is definitely our main character - he is the star of our newly released trailer and he is visible in the background of every level available in the game.

Meet Schrodinger, our crazy cat scientist.

In queso you missed it...

MouseCraft is our upcoming A to B puzzle game where players help a group of mice in their relentless quest for cheese, guiding them to their goal by stacking Tetrominoes along their path.

The game is meant to be a family-friendly puzzle experience, but we also have not forgotten about the completionists and hardcore players - the game offers 80 levels full of collectibles, trophies, enemies, hazards and seven different types of Tetromino bricks.

One thing that does not change throughout the whole game is your main goal: helping a cat by leading the group of mice to the cheese.

Brie-lliant mind?

Ok, but who is this cat?

His name is Schrodinger,...

Sony Goes Hands-on With Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita

50°
16w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on with Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita today with details below.

To quote: The PlayStation social team recently had a chance to play a build of Borderlands 2 on PS Vita, and as the group's resident Borderlandophile, I immediately called dibs. What can I say about this game? It's Borderlands 2 on the Vita!

Controlling Borderlands 2 on PS Vita is a customizable affair: just go into options and remap to your heart's content. To change a control, tap the action or button (even the abilities assigned to the touch screen or rear touch pad) you want to change, then tap wherever you want the action to be.

By default, tapping different areas of Vita's rear touch pad yield a sprint or a melee attack, while a tap on the front screen tosses a grenade or activates your character-specific ability.

Shoulder buttons L and R still aim and shoot, though I did notice a useful new feature that takes advantage of PS Vita's built-in gyroscope: when you're aiming down the sight, moving PS Vita will adjust your aim.

Environments and character models are surprisingly detailed, and the game overall runs at a solid clip, generally hovering in the vicinity of 30 frames per second. Slicing dudes up as my main cyborg-man-alien-mystery-assassin-thing...
