139w ago - SCEE UK Software Product Manager Phil Lynch has shared a video today showcasing Invizimals: Shadow Zone on the PlayStation Portable handheld.
To quote: As you may know, Invizimals is a PSP title that uses cutting edge augmented reality technology (a fancy name for combining real and virtual environments which are interactive in real-time).
I really wanted to share with you what happens when you use a large trap to view your Invizimals, instead of the one usually used with the game. This video shows the OCELOTL moving from a regular trap in my hand to a large 2Ã--2 metre trap.
I've also got some behind the scenes videos that I'll post over the coming weeks in the run up to Invizimals Shadow Zone launching in November. Let me know what you think.
141w ago - Ubisoft Associate Producer Julien Quety has announced that Ghost Recon Predator is out today for the PlayStation Portable handheld.
To quote: We'd like to introduce you to Ghost Recon Predator for PSP, where you'll lead your elite squad deep behind enemy in the jungles of Sri Lanka.
In the game, the Ghosts encounter the enemy on his own ground; he knows the terrain better, has more allies, and knows where to hide and where to attack. Surprise is on his side - he can be anywhere and he can be anyone.
In a crowded street, you'll first have to make the distinction between friend and foe, and the only way to fulfil your mission is with the help of your technology and training.
With Ghost Recon Predator we wanted you to experience the Ghost Fantasy at its best on a handheld console. It is possible to unlock new weapons and customizations for your high-tech gadgets and your characters throughout the adventure. The soldiers in your team are highly trained and you can swap between different characters during the game.
The one thing that we are really excited about is the multiplayer co-op for up to three players. We hope you enjoy it!
141w ago - A few weeks ago PSP2 was confirmed by developers, and today according to VG247.com (linked above) a British source claims Sony's PSP2 handheld will be released during Holiday 2011.
To quote: "Developers and publishers have been told that PSP2 will release at the end of next year, a British source familiar with the matter has told VG247.
"We've been told it's coming in late 2011," said our man.
PSP2 is about as badly concealed as a games system can be. It's been common knowledge for much of this year that content is being made for the system, and that dev kits are in the wild. CPU and GPU specs have yet to be confirmed.
Sony has been obviously silent on the chatter, but has gone on the record to say there are "no plans" to include 3D. This tallies with what we've been told in the past month.
The machine has a forward-facing and backward-facing camera, and will come with both touch-screen and physical controls."
146w ago - Associate Producer Jenny Barbour has announced today that No Heroes Allowed, the latest in the Badman franchise, is coming to Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld.
To quote: A series of Dungeon Strategy games where you play the God of Destruction, summoned by the Evil Overlord Badman to dig a dungeon full of monsters to destroy the invading heroes, and help Badman conquer the known world! MWHAAHAA!
And that is just the beginning! No Heroes Allowed! not only has your main story mode where you help Badman conquer a brand new world across 33 stages, but additionally Dungeon-A-Day mode will offer you 100 daily challenges to hone your dungeoneering skills.
Also for the first time in the Badman series, players will have the opportunity to experience multiplayer! The new Co-Op mode, Badman & Badmella...
146w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video preview of Valkyria Chronicles II, which hits PSP and PSPgo handhelds today online and via UMD.
To quote: Every time we post anything on Valkyria Chronicles, someone pipes up about how they never got past Chapter 7 in the first game.
That battle threw a late-level boss and a massive (but by no means the game's massive-est) tank at you - at the same time. It separated the men from the boys, if you will, and if you beat that chapter, you probably went on to beat the entire game.
SEGA has heard your pleas. In Valkyria Chronicles II - out today - you can bring a friend or 3 for the ride. I tried out the multiplayer recently, and it didn't behave how I'd expect; even though this is a turn-based Strategy RPG, the you and your colleagues move at the same time, in real time. SEGA's Aaron Webber tells us more:
