PlayStation Plus April Preview: Arkham City, Mercenary Kings and More

50°
22w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer unveiled their PlayStation Plus April preview today, which includes Arkham City, Mercenary Kings and more below!

To quote: Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, Batman! Yes, that is the sound of Batman: Arkham City coming to PlayStation Plus in April for PlayStation 3 owners.

Arkham City garnered praise from gamers and critics alike, as evidenced by its cumulative 96/100 score on Metacritic. With the recent announcement of Batman Arkham Knight, this is a great way to catch up on Batman's adventures.

PlayStation 4 owners can join up with friends and take down an evil corporation in a new 2D action game, Mercenary Kings. As you explore the island CLAW (that's the evil corporation) has taken over, you'll discover weapon parts that you can take back to your base and use to fashion together some new spiffy gear.

There are two other PS3 games this month: Stealth Inc. A Clone In the Dark and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. Stealth Inc. is, as you can probably guess, a game where you should stick to the shadows.

The only way to make it out of the lab alive is via some sneaky platforming, so proceed with caution. Castle of Illusion is a proper remake of the Sega Genesis version, not...

Spring Fever 2014: PSN Discounts on TowerFall, Fez and More

26w ago - Sony Digital Distribution Manager Chieh Chen of Sony Network Entertainment shared some Spring Fever 2014 PSN discounts today on TowerFall, Fez and more below!

To quote: Hi everyone! Spring is here (even if Mother Nature hasn't quite realized that yet) and that means one thing: it's time for our annual Spring Fever promotion. I'm super excited to announce that this year's event will bring new indie titles to both PS3 and PS4.

Just like last year's Spring Fever promotion, over the next four weeks we are championing indie developers who are bringing new and exciting experiences to the PlayStation platforms and giving PS Plus members 20 % off each title during each game's launch week.

The Spring Fever lineup features titles from stellar indie developers and I think it is safe to say that this year's lineup rivals (and maybe even surpasses) that of 2013.

Here is this year's Spring Fever line-up:

Launch Week / Title / PS Plus Launch Week Price / Regular Price

3/4 to 3/10 Awesomenauts Assemble (PS4) $7.99 $9.99
Master Reboot (PS3) $11.99 $14.99
3/11 to 3/17 TowerFall Ascension (PS4) $11.99 $14.99

Persona 5 and More Confirmed for PlayStation 3 in North America

50°
27w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin confirmed Persona 5 and more titles are coming for PlayStation 3 in North America with details below.

To quote: I've gotten your emails, your tear-stained letters, your carrier pigeons, and the erstwhile smoke signal. We've read them, and we - finally - can fully and officially reply to them with the best kind of confirmation ever: ATLUS is bringing three new Persona games to the PlayStation family starting in fall of 2014.

"But John," you'll ask, "what are these new Persona games of which you speak?" Well, I'm glad you asked that, illusory writing device! Let's just cut right to the quick. Persona 5 is coming. In 2015. And will be the first Persona RPG developed for the PlayStation 3 system.

That's about all we know about the game, because the plot, characters, and everything about it is being kept under wraps. The one thing we do know is that series director Katsura Hashino hinted that the storyline will be about throwing off the chains of oppression to find one's true self. But how that theme is addressed in Persona 5? We have no idea.

Next up, we have the sequel to Persona 4 Arena ญญ- the hit fighting game for PS3. The number "2″ isn't powerful enough for all the awesome new content in this game, so we're calling it Persona 4 Arena...

50°
28w ago - Sony PlayStation Brand Marketing Senior Vice President Guy Longworth shared a video today inviting fans to experience more together and officially introducing the PS Plus TV Spot.

To quote: It's hard to believe that PlayStation Plus is nearly four years old. Since its launch, we've continued to add benefits, including our wildly popular Instant Game Collection, deep game discounts, cloud storage and online multiplayer on PS4.

We've continued to up the ante with recent Instant Game Collection offerings such as Game of the Year nominee BioShock Infinite, PS3 action epic DmC, headspinning PS Vita adventure Gravity Rush, and most recently, PS4 favorites Resogun and Outlast.

Today, I'm delighted to show you our very first TV spot for PS Plus, which debuts this week and celebrates the fact that with PS Plus you can experience more together.

I hope you enjoy it and thanks to you all for your amazing support.

DC Universe Online: New Characters, Operations and More

50°
31w ago - DC Universe Online Executive Producer Larry Liberty shared details today on new characters, operations and more below.

To quote: The War of the Light has begun! The first of a three-part series of DLC Packs, War of the Light Part I will incorporate several of the fantastic additions to the Green Lantern canon of the past few years.

We'll be adding even more Green Lantern depth to DC Universe Online over the course of the trilogy. Part I will feature new four-player and eight-player Operations, new Legends characters, and a new Red Lantern-inspired power - Rage.

New Operations

Launching with War of the Light Part I is a new version of Metropolis, separate from the version in the core game. Set just after the events of Braniac's Battle for Earth, it will be the canvas on which the entire War of the Light Trilogy of DLCs will be drawn.

In part one, mysterious colored mists have appeared in the city. The mists are beginning to alter the behavior of the citizens of Metropolis, causing them to exhibit emotions linked to those colors: topaz elicits fear, crimson mist - rage, azure - hope, emerald - determination, and purple - love.

The various Lantern Corps have come to Earth to determine what connection these mists have with the Emotional...
