197w ago - Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has confirmed today that Sony has purchased Media Molecule, creators of the beloved LittleBigPlanet, making them a wholly owned part of Sony Computer Entertainment and the latest member of the PlayStation family.
The decision was an easy one after meeting five young, talented people with a massive ambition to redefine video games as we know them, followed by a fantastic exclusive relationship that culminated in the launch of one of the most innovative PlayStation games of recent years.
Of course, LittleBigPlanet needs no introduction here, as it was thanks to you that it became a best selling PS3 title when it released in late 2008.
The acquisition will enhance the talent pool within SCE, protect past and current investment and ensure a solid base for future investment. Media Molecule have exciting projects in the pipeline and we're looking forward to sharing these with you in the not too distant future.

213w ago - Sony's Public Relations Manager Alex Armour has unveiled today that a 70's Mustang has joined the GT5 PS3 lineup at the Gran Turismo Awards.
To quote: Two days ago, PlayStation hosted the 7th annual Gran Turismo (GT) Awards in Las Vegas, taking place in conjunction with the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
We had some impressive entries and a fantastic turnout at the ceremony, headlined by a live performance from the The Offspring at Rain nightclub inside the Palms hotel.
Kazunori Yamauchi - creator of the Gran Turismo franchise - chose a 1970 Ford Mustang from our Hot Rod category as our overall "Best in Show" vehicle, so a big congratulations to owners Todd Gartshore and Phil Koenan - get ready to see you car cruising around the virtual tracks of Gran Turismo 5!
Speaking of GT Awards winners, we got a chance to catch up with two of our past champs at the event and got their thoughts on winning "Best in Show", but also how it feels to see (and play) your very own car in Gran Turismo, which they were able to play last night for the first time. Here's what they had to say:
