203w ago - SCEA Marketing Specialist Brian Chou has announced today that Patchwork Heroes is hitting PSN for Sony's PSP console, as follows:
Here's a first look at Patchwork Heroes, a new title that will be flying onto your PSP this spring via the PlayStation Network.
Patchwork Heroes puts the fate of a city in your hands as massive warships threaten innocent citizens. Come to the people's defense by dismantling each level's warship quickly before the ships can strike. Rescue trapped comrades along the way by releasing them from their confines.
Act fast or each ship will quickly close in on its victims in a matter of minutes. You can defeat each ship by cutting through its parts and chopping it down to size so that it can no longer fly.
To make things tougher you'll have to stop the enemy's repair workers from fixing the damage you've made mid-flight, all the while dodging enemy fire on board.
Once you've cut down a warship to a certain size it will no longer able to fly and the city will be saved.
Stay tuned for more details about the Patchwork Heroes!
204w ago - Recently old XBox 360 XDK's have been hitting the China market, in case any 360 Devs were interested in grabbing one.
After Microsoft released the new XNA, all XBox developers are entitled to get a free upgrade from their old one.
Where do the old ones go? Microsoft will pass them along to labs to destroy them before being thrown away.
The labs, however, often just breaks all the ports and front panel and then sends them on to China to be melted down. Instead of just melting them down, people there actually rework them and are beginning to resell them now.
If you know people who live in China or via the Internet, it's a good chance to get an XDK considerably cheaper!
208w ago - Today TheRegister.co.uk (linked above) reports that Sony Computer Entertainment's John Koller admitted he is amazed by PlayStation Home virtual goods sales and also hinted that reality TV is coming to PSN.
Speaking at iHollywood's Digital Living Room conference in Santa Clara on Tuesday, John Koller - director of marketing PlayStation platforms at SCE America - outlined the company's plans for family hearth domination with the PlayStation 3.
To quote: "Sony Computer Entertainment, the folks in charge of the PlayStation game console, are getting into the reality show business.
As it attempts to transition from a gaming company to a full-blown media company, SCE hopes to expand its PlayStation Network online platform into an "actual" TV network not unlike the American premium cable station HBO."
In regards to PlayStation Home, he stated, "It's amazing to me that someone would by a 50 cent chair for their PlayStation Home apartment with real money, but the revenue that comes from that is significant."

219w ago - The CNET article (linked above) entitled "A Halo Release That Will Be Playable on the PS3" is rapidly making Internet headlines today, however, it's a bit misleading.
If you consider watching a Halo movie as 'playing' it on the PS3, then yes it'll be possible next year.
For the rest of us, Blu-ray.com has announced that the movie will be coming out on Blu-ray disc, meaning that we'll simply be able to watch it on Sony's PlayStation 3 console.
To quote: "The announcement was made at the 2009 Comic-Con in San Diego. The series will be available for download via Xbox Live this fall. According to Blu-ray.com we can expect to see this on Blu-ray sometime in 2010, so there will finally be a disc labeled Halo that will play on the PS3 for all the Halo fans.
However, since the Xbox 360 doesn't support Blu-ray, it makes you wonder if Blu-ray is in the 360's future? Or maybe the next-gen Xbox?"
