Rumor: New Grand Theft Auto Game to be Unveiled at E3 2010

550°
247w ago - In a recent interview with GameInformer.com (linked above), the director of analyst services for Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR) Jesse Divnich predicted a new Grand Theft Auto game will be unveiled at E3 2010 in June.

To quote: "I think we're going to hear about another Grand Theft Auto. I think there won't be any playable stuff. I think they'll give you some type of teaser, because we do think that a year from then in 2011 we're going to see another Grand Theft Auto."

We asked Divnich about whether Sony or Microsoft would try and nab some sort of exclusive rights to the newest GTA, but he thought that those days were over.

"I don't foresee Microsoft or Sony attempting to obtain any type of exclusivity with the next Grand Theft Auto. Microsoft paid a lot of money for exclusivity on the downloadable content for GTA IV, which unfortunately did little to move consoles for Microsoft."

Rumor: Grand Theft Auto IV: Lost and Damned Coming to PS3?!

300°
265w ago - It appears a Sony employee spilled the beans earlier today in a [Register or Login to view links] (now removed) on the official European PlayStation board.

To quote Yaster: "And they were certainly showing some PS3 love - Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and the Damned was available to play in a special 18+ area, we didn't manage to get our hands on it due to the MASSIVE queue - but those inside looked pretty excited."

Since the initial leak and thread removal, a new [Register or Login to view links] has been started and rumor has it Yaster said he is working on getting the story back up.

Time will tell, however, if this is true then it appears Microsoft's exclusive 'paid' DLC won't be exclusive for much longer.

Take-Two: No Grand Theft Auto V is Planned for 2010

300°
271w ago - During a conference call, Take-Two confirmed part of the recent predictions from an industry analyst... specifically stating that Grand Theft Auto V isn't planned for 2010, but for the following financial year instead.

To quote: Rumors have popped up lately, indicating a new GTA would hit sometime in 2010. Take-Two was very tight lipped on the matter, despite being pressed hard about it during the Q&A session following the conference call.

"We've announced the titles that are part of the line up and thats what we've announced today." said Take-Two Interactive's Chairmen Strauss Zelnick.

"I think the key take away is that we fully anticipate we'll be able to achieve our goals of operating the company profitably in [2010], a year that won't have a multiplatform release of a new GTA."

Grand Theft Auto V Announcement Turns Red Dead Redemption

50°
283w ago - Update: Andrew Reiner has confirmed that the game brought by Rockstar was Red Dead Redemption, not a future iteration of Grand Theft Auto.

Andrew Reiner, editor of GameInformer magazine, has posted on his [Register or Login to view links] news of a possible Grand Theft Auto V announcement.

In his tweet, he states that Rockstar visited the GI offices, the game Rockstar brought with them may 'have been Grand Theft Auto V.'

Until we get a confirmation from Rockstar or GameInformer, we should take this with a grain of salt. Andrew did not give any more details, such as consoles or any kind of official revealing.
