Moonbite Games Announces Zombeer is Out Today on PS3

10w ago - Moonbite Games Creative Director Carlos Fernandez announced that Zombeer PS3 is out today on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: What kind of game is Zombeer? That's not easy to answer... my favorite description for Zombeer, which launches today on PS3, would be "first-person-survival-horror-comedy-shooter."

When we started the design process, we had a clear vision for Zombeer. We wanted to show a zombie world with funny and crazy stories, full of tributes to our favourites games and feature films. All with gags, parodies, and - most importantly - no rules. The only limit was our indie budget, and that's been a very real limit.

One of our internal goals was to design a coherent game. So if the story is crazy, the graphics, gags, puzzles, quick time events, etc. have to be crazy, too. And of course this philosophy includes the basic gameplay.

In Zombeer, you must keep a high level of Zombeer in your blood. Because if you don't drink enough, the transformation will start; blurred view, a decrease in mental capabilities... yes, like a Monday morning. If you continue without a drink, you'll transform.

But it's not all bad, because if you're a zombie, the rest of the walkers won't attack you, so it's a good way to catch your breath, change positions,...

MonkeyPaw Games Retro Rush Week 5 Introduces Wolf Fang

50°
10w ago - MoneyPaw Games PR Manager Ryan Olsen is here with Retro Rush Week 5 which introduces Wolf Fang.

Below are the details, to quote: With a new week comes a new title from the MonkeyPaw Games Retro Rush event. Week 5 brings Wolf Fang - an action shoot-'em-up centered around customizable robots - to PlayStation Store.

Wolf Fang was originally released in arcades in Japan in the early 1990s, and made its way to PlayStation a few years later. The story is set in the future: an evil military faction looks to control all the mechs in the world, and the last places on Earth they haven't conquered are Australia and New Zealand (It's always nice to know which areas on future Earth will be the last bastions of freedom, isn't it?). To stop the bad guys from total domination, you pilot your own customized mech to save Oceania.

The customization process allows you to swap out a special weapon, main weapon and legs to fit your personal play style. If you lose all your lives, you can try a different set of parts or keep rocking the same mech.

The choice is always yours, which is good because Wolf Fang's difficulty has a... wait for it... bite to it (sorry, I've been saving that pun for a long time). Overall, there are 12 pieces to choose from so you can play around with the parts to find...

New Sony PlayStation Game Releases for February 11th, 2014

10w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with this weeks PlayStation video game releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Strong, witty, and a little rough around the edges, Ellie from The Last of Us played a tremendous role in making the critically-acclaimed PS3 game shine.

Her endearing dialogue and emotional connection with Joel provide The Last of Us with several layers of narrative. But there's more of her story to be told.

This week on Friday, The Last of Us: Left Behind arrives on PS3. The DLC explores Ellie's past, along with her connection with close friend and confidant, Riley. This additional chapter in the world of The Last of Us bestows gamers with intimate insight into defining moments of Ellie's past.

But there's more coming this week to the world of PlayStation. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII launches on PS3, concluding Lightning's chapter in the long-running JRPG series. Lightning Returns features a large, open world, tons of sidequests, and an elaborate customization system that will let players design their ideal fighter.

For a complete list of games coming this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

Orangepixel Games Coming to PS Vita, Starting with Gunslugs

50°
11w ago - Orangepixel's Pascal Bestebroer announced today that their videogames are coming to PS Vita starting with Gunslugs.

Below are the details, to quote: I'm Pascal Bestebroer, the indie developer known as Orangepixel.

I've been developing games since 2004, which have appeared on older mobile platforms like J2ME, as well as newer ones like Android and iOS. That said, it's likely you don't know Orangepixel... yet!

With the help of the guys at Abstraction games, I hope to change that and make my games more known to new audiences, starting with PlayStation gamers. So, Gunslugs will be the first of the Orangepixel titles to hopefully land a spot on your PS Vita this month!

As I mentioned above, I've been creating games since 2004, and all the Orangepixel games have a few key elements in common:

First, they feel, look and sound "retro." This is a very commonly used term these days, but don't judge the games because they looks retro - I also try to imbue my games with newer tricks, gameplay concepts and even some triple-A ideas, bringing old-school style games to a more modern audience.

The final element that all Orangepixel games share, is that they are hard. Not brutal, and...

Red Barrels Announces Outlast is Out Today: Survival Horror on PS4

400°
11w ago - Red Barrels Co-Founder Philippe Morin announced that Outlast PS4 is officially out today bringing survival horror to PlayStation 4.

To quote: Hello gamers! I'm Philippe Morin, one of the co-founders of Red Barrels.

Our first game, Outlast, is coming to PS4 today, and I'm excited to share that those of you who are PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download it completely for free.

Outlast itself is a survival-horror game created by a team of 11 people with one common goal: to scare the *bleep* out of you.

Here's the story so far... In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, the facility was recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation.

Taking advantage of the Asylum's history and remote location, they've been operating in strict secrecy. That is, they were until the reporter arrived.

Acting on a tip from an anonymous source, independent journalist Miles Upshur has broken into the facility, and what he is about to discover inside will walk a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something entirely other. Trapped with nightmares old and new, his only...
