201w ago - Sony's Senior Product Marketing Manager, Stephanie Yoshimoto has brought more news from E3 - this time a release date for the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5.

To quote: That's right. At the Sony E3 press conference today at the Shrine Auditorium, SCEA President & CEO Jack Tretton unveiled a jaw-dropping showpiece trailer of Gran Turismo 5 that disclosed the big news - GT5 is officially coming on November, 2, 2010.

As you can expect from any Gran Turismo game, GT5 will be bigger and better than ever, including everything from 950+ cars to a new and improved online component with expansive community features and custom race lobbies.

Before you head off to pre-order the game that every racing fan is going to be playing, you'll need to decide which version you're going to get: the standard edition or the limited Collector's Edition. And if you're a true Gran Turismo fan, of course you'll want to pick up the Collector's Edition.

Quantum Theory Release Date Confirmed for March 26, 2010

222w ago - Tecmo Koei's third-person action shooter Quntum Theory will be released in the UK on March 26, 2010 according to CVG (linked above).

To quote: "The title has been dubbed 'the Japanese Gears Of War' by the gaming press, and for good reason - as the below all-new trailer shows.

The influence is pretty clear cut, right? Should helped keep fans of hell-for-leather shooters occupied until Epic announces Gears Of War 3.

MAG Beta 5.0 Statistics, No PS3 HDD Install Confirmed for Release

222w ago - The MAG PS3 blog has unveiled Beta 5.0 statistics today, and PSNAtHome.com has spotted an official confirmation from Sony's Jeremy Dunham that the release later this month (January 26, 2010) will not have a mandatory PS3 HDD installation required.

To quote: "I have a question, will MAG require a Mandatory Install or will it run off the disc?

• Before the end of the beta on January 10, there were well over a million downloads (860,000 in North America alone) of the MAG beta client worldwide.
• Of the 619,000+ people who gained at least one point of experience, 52,846 of them qualified for Squad Leader, 10,249 people qualified for Platoon Leader, 3,181 warriors made it all the way to OIC, and a mere 143 diehard soldiers made it to the level 60 experience cap.

Netflix is Officially Confirmed to Hit the Nintendo Wii This Spring

223w ago - Update: NetFlix has finally shipping out the instant streaming discs for Wii owners. In order to request the disc, you have to log onto the official NetFlix Web site.

After many rumors, today the New York Times has officially confirmed that online movie rental service Netflix will be expanding to the Nintendo Wii console this Spring.

Considering the Wii's small internal memory, it should come as no surprise that this service will require an Instant Streaming Disc in the Wii each time someone wants to watch a movie, just like the PS3.

But while it's speculated that the PS3 will be getting an onboard solution to this problem, the same shouldn't be expected for Nintendo's console.

To quote: "The real winner in this? Netflix, of course. The online rental company has become quite ubiquitous these days. Even now I'm sure that a strong majority of our readership has a little red envelope either ready to be watched or sealed and ready for the long journey back home to the nearest Netflix shipping center.

Gran Turismo 5 PS3 Track Editor Confirmed by Polyphony Digital

233w ago - Update: IGN has now done a Q&A with Kazunori Yamauchi where he also hints at the forthcoming GT5 track editor.

According to several sites this weekend, including E4G.info (linked above), Polyphony Digital has confirmed that a Track Editor will be included in the upcoming release of Gran Turismo 5 for Sony's PS3 console.

To quote: With the recent rumors and videos that have been going around about Gran Turismo 5 having a track editor, we decided to contact the developers to find out if it was true or not. Now, we have a official answer.

They were kind enough to give us a quick response and this is what a representative said:

"Yes it will have a track editor. You will be able to rebuild a track from scratch or edit the tracks that are already put in Gran Turismo 5."
