LittleBigPlanet PS3 Tip: How to Get the Community Prize Crown

50°
303w ago - Today SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor shared a LittleBigPlanet tip with PS3 fans on how to get the cherished Community Prize Crown:

As promised from this week's Sack it to Me post, we are introducing more ways for our LBP Community to obtain the rarest of rare DLC - the Community Prize Crown.

Up until now, the only time we (SCEA) offered up the Crown was as a prize for a few of our LittleBigChallenges. With our fan base becoming more and more active, we wanted to give our LBP Community members more chances to be "crowned". Here's how:

First off, a few notes: in order for us to contact you, you must have a PSN account in the US, and have opted-in for marketing materials (under Notification Preferences in PSN Account Management.)

#1 - A "Gold Star" on the LittleBigWorkshop
Frequently, when we're on LittleBigWorkshop.com, every so often, we come across a submission, whether it is an inspiration, workshop or forum post that makes us smile. As a small token of our appreciation, we like to put a smile on your face too by giving you a Community Prize Crown.

#2 - Raising our Eyebrows
Every once in awhile, LBP fans do something that immediately grabs the attention of a few people, spreads on the web, and eventually is...

PS3 SOCOM 1.30 Patch Follow-up, Community/Stats Error Issues

50°
310w ago - This past Friday the SOCOM: Confrontation 1.30 update was released, which brought PS3 trophies, Quick Match/Party systems and more.

In order to resolve incorrect player stats and to correct the stats for the Trophy support, all player statistics with the release of the SOCOM: Confrontation 1.30 update were cleared.

However, Sony Computer Entertainment America Community Manager Cindy Bowens has now shared an update on some undesired server side-effects as follows:

We just wanted to let you know that we are aware of and looking into some server issues which are causing community/stats errors as well as increased latency. We are working on the issue now. Thanks for your patience and your feedback!

More to come as it's available... hopefully all will be sorted out soon enough.

LittleBigPlanet PS3 Community Update for December 9, 2008

50°
315w ago - SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor has shared the second LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3 "Sack It To Me" Community Update as follows:

Another crazy week in the world of LBP filled with tons of new questions for us to answer. But before we get to the questions, we wanted to introduce "efong", one of our US producers for LittleBigPlanet.

You may have noticed him jumping in to answer a few of your questions in the comments section last week, and we're glad he's able to help you guys out. Now, onto the latest!

Moderation
We haven't forgotten about those of you who have been affected by level moderation either. Changes are coming very soon, and we believe the way we check levels for inappropriate content will soon start to be received more favorably. We know it's a big deal, and we're very much working on it.

Rankings
We hope you noticed but within the data for each user created level, there appears the "Star rankings" associated with fellow players ranking levels.

Failed to load level
Several of you have gotten this message when playing online. This is one of the things on our list, wanted to provide some insight on the message.

The "Failed to Load Level" message happens in two basic situations...

Sack It To Me: Weekly Answers to the LBP Community Questions

50°
316w ago - SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor has initiated a weekly PS Blog update on the hot topics and answers to the questions LittleBigPlanet consumers have as follows:

First off, wanted to introduce "Sam_Protagonist" to everyone. He's our global community manager for LittleBigPlanet and our eyes and ears for all things community. You can find him interacting on the EU and US forums providing updates to the community. Keep a look out for his forum posts and occasional LBP News Site posts for the latest updates.

So for our first installment of 'SACK IT TO ME' - we've decided to summarize some of the major topics the community wants answered...

Moderation
The level moderation process is something we're continually improving. The small percentage of levels moderated have been done so after the community has reported them using the Good Grief tool. We never moderate levels that have not been reported in this way.

The vast majority of moderated levels were due to offensive material, however we are evolving the way moderation happens to ensure that creators are made aware of why their level was blocked. More to come shortly.

Servers
We hope you've noticed that over the...
