Ultratron is Coming to PlayStation 4, PS3 and PS Vita in Early 2015

50°
8w ago - Curve Digital's Lucy Ingram announced today that Ultratron is coming to PlayStation 4, PS3 and PS Vita in early 2015 with details below.

To quote: Hey all! Lucy from Curve Digital here, with the exciting news that action arcade blaster Ultratron will be coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita early next year.

The game marks the second time we'll be working with original developer Puppygames, who are also the creators of Titan Attacks, another arcade reinvention which we brought to PlayStation platforms earlier this year.

Ultratron isn't a direct sequel, but just like Titan Attacks, it takes a classic arcade game and coats in a layer of modern polish, vibrant, colorful graphics and addictive risk/reward play.

Where Titan Attacks was all about expanding on classic Space Invaders, Ultratron takes its cue from Robotron and other classic twin-stick shooters adding upgrades, two player co-op, and adaptive difficulty that manually adjusts the pace of the game based on the skill of the player.

During the game, you'll attempt to avenge the human race as you blast your way through over 40 glowing neon levels, avoiding Chasers, Turrets, Minelayers, Spawners, bombs, and bullets before taking on the four evil 'bot bosses of the Apocalypse.

Ultratron is a pure arcade...

Sony Announces Close Castles Coming to PS4, Play at PS Experience

50°
9w ago - Sony's Asher Vollmer announced that Close Castles is coming to PS4, and PlayStation 4 fans can play it at PS Experience!

To quote: I have a love/hate relationship with real time strategy games. I love them, but I hate playing them.

Let's face it: RTSes are miserable pain engines designed to give players the worst possible experience. They're kind of fun (though deeply stressful) right up until the first interaction with another player and then it's all downhill for the next forty-or-so minutes.

You play until someone gives up. They are lonely exercises in sadomasochism. Anyway hello. My name is Asher Vollmer and I intend to fix all that with my new game, Close Castles.

I made [Register or Login to view links] because I love small, minimalist games. Close Castles is no different. The games are incredibly quick: they average around three minutes each on the fastest game speed.

Buliding the game for a controller has inspired me to make the controls as simple as possible. You move your cursor around the field and press a button to build structures. What you build and where you build it will determine you and your opponent's collective fate.

The game is built for local multiplayer, so there's no hidden information. This means...

Sony Announces Wander: A Non-combat MMO Coming to PS4

100°
11w ago - Writer & Character Designer Crystal Flinn announced today that a non-combat MMO is coming to PS4 called Wander with details below.

To quote: Hello, everyone! This is Crystal from Wander, here to tell you a little bit about ourselves and what we're doing way down here on the bottom of the Earth (AKA Australia).

Wander is the brainchild of Melbourne resident Loki Davison, who noticed a shocking absence of games that didn't primarily focus on violence in order to tell a story, and decided there was a niche that desperately needed to be filled.

That - coupled with a slight preoccupation with flight, travelling, and music - led to the conception of Wander, an MMO game that lets you explore a majestic environment in several different forms - a giant tree, a soaring griffin, a sea creature and more.

"I was somewhat of a nomad for a long time. I wandered around Central Asia, Siberia, the Arctic and Himalayas. Growing up I played a lot of MUDs (text based MMO games) and wanted to make a game that was atmospheric, relaxing and multiplayer. Wander draws on a lot of that experience. I wanted to collaboratively explore in a game." - Loki

You start off deep in a forest you can't remember, occupying a form you don't recognize. Clues can be found by examining your surroundings,...
