204w ago - SCEA San Diego Studio Producer Vernon Mollette has shared a video today on the PlayStation Blog showcasing the behind-the-scenes launch of ModNation Racers for Sony's PSP.

To quote: We've talked at length about the over-the-top kart racing action, as well as the revolutionary Creation Studio tools that let you design Mods, Karts, and Tracks on the fly before you Share them with the world!

What we haven't talked about yet is price. You can get all of this amazing content for a low price of $29.99, whether you prefer to buy it on UMD or digitally through the PlayStation Store.

With over 25 tracks, a PSP-version exclusive Last Kart Standing Mode, and virtually endless user-generated content, this really is an incredible purchase for the long summer days.

Speaking of long days...just how hard have we been working? Well I kind of touched on that in my previous post, when I mentioned a Behind-the-Scenes video that was coming.

It's here now to watch, and watching it myself I am reminded of all the fun we had making ModNation Racers as well as all that hard work. Throughout the video you'll see some of our daily meetings, trips to QA, and nearly every person focused on making the game all that it is today!

Video: United Front Games PS3 Studio Tour: Behind the Scenes

225w ago - United Front Games Lead Producer Julian Beak has shared a 'behind the scenes' video tour today of their PS3 studio where ModNation Racers was developed.

To quote: Today I'm going to talk about our studio at United Front Games in Vancouver, Canada where we make the game. Rob Oliveira, who you've met before, will walk you through so you can picture it for yourself.

We have a lot of design, technology and art direction to discuss every day. Sometimes this is done in meeting rooms which are very sensibly named after Mexican wrestlers. More often these discussions take place right at our desks.

There are no offices at United Front Games – not even for the President. This puts everyone on an equal footing when it comes to access. We believe making innovative games requires a touch of chaos and lots of communication.

Our character, kart and world artists make up the largest group on our team so we don't let them sit together or they would take over. Designers, artists and programmers are mixed up in small teams devoted to major features. All the people who design and build a particular feature sit close. This lets them play and improve these features very quickly.

Video: Behind the Scenes with the SCEA Music Department

229w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a behind-the-scenes video today of the SCEA Music Department, as follows:

If you ever though that music in PlayStation games is an afterthought, think again. I spent an afternoon with a trio from the music team here at SCEA and found out quite the contrary.

Games like UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves, inFAMOUS and the upcoming God of War III are proving just how amazing game music can be.

This definitely ranks up there with one of my favorite interviews I've been a part of. You've already met Jonathan Mayer. This time we're adding Senior Music Manager Clint Bajakian and Music Editor Scott Hanau, who discuss all things music here at PlayStation.

In this six-minute video, the team touches on topics including what it's like to work alongside game developers like Naughty Dog, the huge orchestral sessions at Skywalker Sound and beyond, how the music was crafted for the UNCHARTED 2 train sequence, the percussion in God of War III and much more.

And you'll also notice UNCHARTED 2 composer Greg Edmonson doing his thing along with Leslie Ann Jones, Director of Music Recording and Scoring for Skywalker Sound. Hope you enjoy it!

231w ago - Today Sony Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a behind-the-scenes video with the God of War Collection PS3 developer, as follows:

One day. That's all there's left to wait until you'll be slashing it up with your Blades of Chaos, soaking up orbs and hording Trophies like nobody's business in God of War Collection.

So to get you riled up while you wait, we have a very cool treat – a director's commentary-style video with the team(s) behind this incredibly impressive remastered Blu-ray collection that includes God of War and God of War II in glorious HD, along with two full sets of Trophies and more.

Joining me via PlayStation Eye is developer Bluepoint Games President Andy O'Neil and CTO Marco Thrush, along with Santa Monica Studios Director of Technology Tim Moss.

The trio dishes over five brand-new minutes of HD footage, revealing some great info on the development of God of War Collection and how they made the magic happen.
