Sony: Qore won't affect availability of great content on PSN

50°
306w ago - A Qore introduction video is available below, and Sony rep amurphy has already responded to some of the angry comments on its US Blog about its monthly lifestyle gaming program 'Qore'.

One comment asked if demos were going to be exclusive to Qore from now on, or if they will still be free. Sony replied: "If you purchase Qore, you will have access to exclusive content that would not be available otherwise - it does not impact the availability of the great content found on PSN, nor does it change our free play model."

The response probably won't mean much to most people who feel they are basically taking stuff that would have been free normally and charging for it.

X-Box 360: Buy All Of Your Content a Second Time

50°
306w ago - Reader Mac's X-Box 360 was out of warranty when it broke, so he decided to buy a new one thinking he could just transfer his old hard drive to the new X-Box.

Sadly, no matter what he tries he can't get his content to work properly on the new machine. He called Microsoft to see if they could help him out (after all they do this sort of transfer all the time for people whose boxes are replaced under warranty), but Microsoft's only answer was "buy all your content a second time."

Hi guys, not sure if you're interested in putting this sort of thing on your site anymore, but I've had my own problems with Microsoft, the 360 and their support.

In a sentence, I called their support after replacing my busted 360, and their response to my question as to why I can't access most of my content either online or offline from my old hard drive anymore was "Can't help you, sorry. Buy all of the content a second time."

Now here's the long version: I was kindly greeted by Alex, the automated system guy (I've never seen any company give theirs a name), then transferred over to a man who I believe went by the name "Jeeves" (at least that's what it sounded like to me through the accent).

After a bit of friendly banter and him asking me for a whole bunch of different information,...

User-Created UT3 content crashing PS3s

50°
330w ago - Over the past few days there has been a variety of user created content for the PS3 version of UT3, but unfortunately there is a range of reports that these are crashing PS3s.

Some are speculating that it is the fault of the Mutator mod released but there is s a bit of a 'problem' as it is not known as if Epic themselves will look into this issue as technically it is not their own content.

To quote from leukoplast: Well, seems the mods may have been all too premature. I was just playing campaign mode, nearly done with a level. As as it was counting down...boom the game freezes on me. So I restarted the PS3, started the game back up and the first thing to appear was this.

Sorry for the quality, but this was taken with my crappy camera off-screen. (click for bigger shot)

And for the record. I have downloaded and imported all the available PS3 mods to date. So not sure which one may be causing it.
