341w ago - Couple of days old, but I didn't see it posted... the Call of Duty 4 Map Pack was recently released. Patch 1.6 gives PC gamers 4 maps for free.

To quote: Infinity Ward has released patch 1.6 for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This update includes 4 new maps: Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse and Creek. The map pack is also free unlike its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 counterparts, which cost roughly $10. Also included in the patch are:

- Hardcore and old school server browser filters.
- Fix for a Denial of Service attack.
- Includes all the changes up to patch 1.5.

You can download the patch at File Planet.

50°
342w ago - Miriam has released Custom Firmware 3.95 GEN for PSP, including full support for 3.X kernel based homebrew applications, as well as an integrated in-XMB recovery menu.

Note that the 1.5 kernel add-on from previous M33 releases is not compatible with 3.95 GEN, and at least 3.71 M33 Firmware must be installed beforehand.

Download: PSP Custom Firmware v3.95 GEN

Changelog:

General

* Kernel updated to 3.95 (new nids, patches, etc).

Recovery

* Option added in recovery to choose between VSHMenu and in-XMB recovery.
* Option added in recovery to choose from Sony, GEN and M33 Network Update modes.

XMB

* Access VSHMenu / recovery menu via XMB with the SELECT button.

Finally, numerous reports suggest that the built-in PSOne emulator does not function properly, though an updated POPSLoader is included to allow prior versions of the emulator to run.

AutoStart PRX Plug-In for M33 CFW for PSP released!

50°
342w ago - Roe-ur-boat has released AutoStart PRX, a 3.90 M33 compatible Custom Firmware plug-in that, as the name implies, allows users to specify a list of up to four separate homebrew applications to load at launch.

Each application can be binded to certain keys. When that key is held during bootup, the PSP will automatically load your homebrew. As always, refer to the included readme file for installation and usage instructions.

To quote: Here's a small plug-in I've made that allows you to launch your homebrew at startup. You can configure it to launch up to four different eboots with the included configurator.

For example, by holding cross at start up, you can load one homebrew, while holding triangle will load another. Hope you like it!

fMSX PSP v3.5.2 Emulator Update released!

50°
342w ago - Uberjack has released a maintenance update to fMSX, an MSX series emulator for the PSP that supports both MSX and MSX2 cartridge files.

Previous versions of the emulator contained two mislabeled configuration settings. In the updated release, both MSX Music and MSX Audio now correctly refer to FMPAC/YM2413 and Y8950, respectively.

As such, the author notes that users should make sure that MSX Music is enabled if FMPAC-based titles were previously freezing.

Download: fMSX PSP v3.5.2 for CFW 3.X / fMSX PSP v3.5.2 for FW 1.5

Changelog Version 3.5.2:

- Corrected MSX Music/MSX Audio labeling in System settings
- MSX Music now correctly refers to FMPAC/YM2413 chip; MSX Audio refers to Y8950 chip. If the emulator was previously freezing with FMPAC audio, double-check to make sure MSX Music is enabled (disable MSX Audio to gain some extra speed) and try again.
