Video: PS3 HDD-Supported Games running from the HDD

100°
311w ago - The video shows:

- Warhawk running from HDD
- no PKG version
- no WH disc while WH is running
- Motorstorm running as proxy disc
- legal way

I wont explain the details here till the project is finished 100%, also cuz many devs want to take a look at first and not get it patched that fast. I can say that if all will work like I want it to you'll need:

- "special" game dump of the game you want to play from HDD
- one (any) original bd game
- 2x minimum 60GB HDD's (illegal way - it worx but its not allowed in most countrys - its working like a packed game on psp memory stick)

OR

-1 60GB HDD + original disc (legal way - no need to be inserted while playing)

Im using newest firmware PAL 60GB SKU. 3 games tested yet - working.
Games which should be possible from the knowledge i got yet:

- Warhawk
- Motorstorm
- Resistance
- GT5
- COD3
- ...

I cant check more atm, as I dont have else here. The final way will be a bit different than the video shows. Even there are 2 different ways then to do it, thats because there are 2 different groups of games. One can be done with 1 HDD but then you need the original disk of the game.

E3 2008 Expo Games: Doom 4, not coming to PlayStation 3

50°
318w ago - Doom 4 has quite a legacy to live up to. Doom certainly wasn't the first successful FPS, but it is definitely one of the most influential.

Follow-ups Doom II: Hell on Earth and Doom 3, as well as 3's expansion pack Resurrection of Evil, only continued to satisfy fan expectations.

With id Software co-founder and Doom's architect John Carmack on board, the coming fourth adventure in the series will hopefully be the best one yet.

Doom 4 is currently slated to be released on PC and Xbox 360 platforms only.

Five PS3 Games to Watch For at E3 2008

700°
318w ago - The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo is just around the corner, and the gaming industry as well as the fans are excited to find out what major announcements software and hardware developers will make this year.

There will undoubtedly be some big new titles announced, as well as some nuggests of information about games we already know are in the works. Here are the five PS3 games that we are most excited about, as well as some questions that we hope developers can answer on the show floor in Los Angeles two weeks from now.

1. Fallout 3

This hybrid RPG/first-person shooter has players exploring the familiar post-apocalyptic universe of Fallout. Set in a creepy "what if" version of 1950s America, the series has garnered praise for its complex plot lines, incredible environments and interactions with NPCs. Fallout 3 will bring the experience into the next gen, with an epic, open world to explore, a new action-oriented battle system, and tons of customizable weapons and skills.

The designers have stated that the scale of the game will be only slightly smaller than that of Oblivion, which gamers know was one of the most massive environments ever seen in a video game. The title has been in development at Bethesda for more than two years, and promises to be one of the biggest...

Four Mysteriously Mysterious Games!

100°
321w ago - What happens to those games where they show a short video at E3 that gets everyone excited and then nothing is heard from them again?

Like Duke Nukem and Prey, they've probably had to start over on a different set of technology as the original technology which at the time was mind-blowing no longer cuts it in today's age of High Definition, High Dynamic Range Lighting and more ragdoll physics than you can shake a Gravity Gun at!

4. Alan Wake
This little title was first shown off way back in 2005 at E3. Originally planned for PC, Xbox360 and Playstation 3 until Microsoft secured publishing rights to the title and made it a PC/360 exclusive. The title is from the same brains behind the Max Payne series.

You are Alan Wake a writer who is suffering from insomnia after losing his wife, and I don't mean she died, she vanished. Seriously! He travels to a sleep clinic which is located in Bright Falls, Washington. His insomnia clears. He starts to use his dreams in his books but they become much more. Spooky stuff, Eh?

How It Looks Today
Time has taken it's toll on this beauty. While the lighting and atmosphere looks amazing, the environment looks a little sterile and fails when compared to the likes of Grand Theft Auto 4. The forests look amazing but the same can't...
