Video: Fate / Unlimited Codes Episode 1, Hits PSP on PSN Today

50°
265w ago - Capcom's John Diamonon has shared a new Fate / Unlimited Codes Episode 1 - Saber VS Archer video today on the PlayStation Blog, and has also announced that today it hits PSN.

To quote: It's my pleasure to announce that Fate/unlimited codes will be available today, exclusively on the PlayStation Store for your PSP! This deep and insanely fun fighting game is developed by Eighting, the team responsible for the Bloody Roar series and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

Oh, by the way, if I'm slow to respond to your questions or comments today, it's because I'm in Seattle for PAX. If you see me at the show, perform a PlayStation Home dance and say, "Hey John D, it must be Fate!", I'll hook you up with some free Fate shwag! It's the least I can do for making you perform the Cabbage Patch in this day and age.

Anyway, here's a cool video that one of our summer interns, Arya, created to give you a quick preview of the game. (Hey Arya, don't let school work get in the way of your partying, ok?) Check out Capcom-Unity for more of his strategy videos.

Also, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, the producer of the game, has this to say:

Hi there PlayStation fans. I'd like to share with you an overview of the different modes you'll see in Fate/unlimited codes. There are a total...

Battle Tanks Coming to PSN this Month for PlayStation 3

250°
265w ago - Today Gameloft's Philippe Laurens has announced that Battle Tanks will be hitting PSN this month for the PlayStation 3 console.

To quote: Battle Tanks features World War II tanks that face off against each other in hopes to blow the other to smithereens. You can play against the AI or co-op with a friend in Campaign Mode to overcome 50 maze and paint ball-like levels.

There's also a fun multiplayer option also allows two to four people to challenge each other in Death Match modes or Capture the Flag mode.

Nothing beats blasting through walls with rockets, scorching enemies with flame throwers and carefully calculating the trajectory of bullets to win battles. The controls are simple: the left stick moves your tank and the L2 and R2 buttons are used for firing.

The aiming guide is highlighted when you hold down the L1 button and comes in extremely handy when you're trying to stealthily eliminate enemies on the field. To reduce the waiting time when a player dies, we added a new feature: Gun Turrets! When you've lost all your lives, you still can play and help your partner win the game.

As soon as an early version of Battle Tanks was installed on our PS3 test kit, it quickly became the most popular attraction in the Gameloft Studio. Everyone who passed...

Rumor: Castle Crashers Hitting PlayStation 3 via PSN in 2010?

200°
266w ago - It appears The Behemoth's 2D action game Castle Crashers is no longer exclusive to Xbox 360.

According to CastleCrashers.com (linked above), the highly popular Xbox Live Arcade game will be hitting the PlayStation 3 via PSN in 2010.

This news comes despite earlier [Register or Login to view links] of it arriving on 8/27/2009 (which is obviously false), so now the title will not be conquering the PlayStation Store this year.

For those unaware: Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling, beat-em-up which incorporates a small number of role-playing game elements.

After selecting a character, the player then selects a starting level (beginning with the wizard's attack on the castle) through a graph-like world map; once the player completes a level, they may then opt to start or revisit that level any time.

Other levels include shops where the player can buy items for healing, attacking, or defense using coins gained from defeated foes, and arena levels where the player can take on challenges to unlock additional characters, although in co-op the arena turns into a player vs player match.

Fate / Unlimited Codes Fights Its Way to PSP Next Week via PSN

100°
266w ago - Today Capcom's John Diamonon has announced that Fate / Unlimited Codes will be making its way to Sony's PlayStation Network next week, as follows:

I'm here to talk about Capcom's next fighting game, Fate/Unlimited Codes, specifically designed for the PSPgo. This game will be available next week, September 3, and is exclusive to the PlayStation Network.

Fate is developed by [Register or Login to view links], the talented group responsible for the Bloody Roar series and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

Based on the popular Japanese visual novel/anime, Fate/unlimited codes takes place in a local town in Japan where 7 pairs of 'Masters' and 'Servants' compete for the 'Holy Grail' that will grant them any wish.

This compelling combat experience features a deep roster of characters and unique fighting moves, while employing a fast-paced, weapons-based fighting system that is sure to meet any Capcom fans highest expectations. It also features beautiful 3D graphics and a pseudo-3D fighting system. (Side-stepping evades FTW!)

Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, the producer of this game and known for his work on the Street Fighter Alpha series, loves the PS community and wants to share a few things about...
