To quote: The first part of arcade saga "topatoi: The Great Tree Story" was released 2nd of July in EU.

Unfortunately we had no opportunity to get the game out in the US at the same time, but it will be available in the US PlayStation Store this fall and everyone will have a chance to take an unforgettable journey with inquisitive explorer Raph into fantastic world, and challenge yourself with a variety of platforming levels and game modes.

Rumor: New Sony PSN Service Update is Coming Soon?

250°
261w ago - The Examiner.com (linked above) is reporting news of an incoming Sony PSN service update. Upon logging in to investigate further, the following are now shown under the PSN Services section:

• Screen: Media Go!
• Screens: PlayStation Store for Games 1, 2 and 3
• Screen: Video Delivery Service
• Screens: SensMe

It's no surprise that Sony is constantly expanding their PSN services- which currently include PlayStation Home, the PlayStation Store and a movie/television rental service (among others) as the PS3 is indeed a multimedia console.

What's in the cards remains to be seen, but until then some screens from the services detailed above are available, and to quote:

On their official press site, Sony has an official PSN tab and it lists all the available services for PS3 owners to take advantage of. Well, Sony just updated their press site and under their PSN service section, they list a new link that is tentatively titled "Coming Soon" - which is currently unavailable to open.

Will Sony be announcing a new PSN service in the near future? Or will it be part of the Thursday store update? I have high doubt it's the rumored PlayStation Cloud service, but it's definitely something. For it to be on the site now, Sony must be planning to...

Rumor: PSN Cards to Come to Europe in October

350°
261w ago - Several sites are reporting a rumor today that PSN Cards will finally be coming to Europe on October 1, 2009.

To quote: October 1st will be an important day for Sony. With the launch of the PSP Go and the much-awaited Gran Turismo PSP already confirmed for that day, now it's been reported that the same day what European PSN users have been clamoring for years will be finally released: PSN pre-paid cards.

While we're labeling this as rumor since it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, the timing of release makes it seem very likely, given that the download-only PSP Go launches on the same day, it makes sense for pre-paid cards to accompany it.

We'll keep you informed when Sony finally confirms the rumor.

50°
262w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared another Comic-Con 2009 video entitled Castle Crashers coming to PSN.

To quote: Hidden amongst the madness of the Comic-Con 2009 show floor was a gem. Castle Crashers, a game that some hoped would eventually come to PS3, is finally headed our way.

If you're unfamiliar, it's a really clever downloadable co-op action game that utilizes some cool RPG elements for great results. And it was officially announced for PSN at Comic-Con.

We cornered the kind folks at The Behemoth for a little back and forth, so take a look at the video to find out why you need to keep your eye out for Castle Crashers.

And get to know these guys because they promised to come back on the Blog when they have even more to talk about.

PSP Video Downloads Direct from PSN go Live in Japan

50°
262w ago - We've known since E3 in June that Sony would open up the PlayStation Network for direct video downloads over WiFi to the PSP - no PC or PS3 required.

Now it's live, in Japan anyway. At the moment, there are about 90 PSN video titles to choose from at the moment including anime episodes at ¥200 (about $2) per or animated movies for ¥500 ($5.30) in standard definition or ¥600 ($6.40) for HD.

PSP downloaded videos can be transferred to the PS3 and some content can be rented for 72-hours at a pop. No word on US or European launches but really, how much longer could it be with the PSP Go launching on October 1st.

To quote, roughly translated: PSP PlayStation Store's video rental service is now available as well. Traditionally the first drop in the PS3 from the PSP to "move" is needed to further download the PSP via WiFi directly to Memory Stick and you can play.

Once downloaded to the start of play the first 72 hours are available for viewing and using the same DRM restrictions from the PS3. Like the PSP to the PS3, PSP and download content directly to the PS3 can play and move. "Of course" I should add, PSP can only rent the SD version.

And according to today's launch for the PSP:

• "Toro travel and THE MOVIE" (SD 500 version, HD version of 600)
