Coming to PSN this Week: LocoRoco Midnight Carnival for PSP

50°
255w ago - Today SCEA Santa Monica Producer Tsubasa Inaba has announced that LocoRoco Midnight Carnival PSP is coming to PSN this week.

To quote: Have you all decided on your Halloween costumes yet?
Have you stocked up on candy for the Trick or Treating kids in the neighborhood?

Have you charged your wallets up in preparation for LocoRoco Midnight Carnival for PSP, available this Thursday on PSN for $14.99?

Well, thankfully you have a few more days to get ready! In this week's blog post, we'd like to share a little more on the features, specifically multiplayer!

For the first time in Loco history, you can now race friends through levels! Via Ad Hoc, connect with up to four players and see who can get to the end first. Each player controls their own tilt and bounce action, but you can see their position on your screen so you know when you are neck and neck. To show you how this works, I challenged Kumi, my LocoRoco partner-in-crime here, to a race and we recorded it.

Many of you regular readers may recall a blog post for LocoRoco 2 when we first introduced Ad Hoc competition LocoRoco Minigame called LocoRider. Kumi and I played head to head and she ended up beating me. So this is our rematch!

(She is...

Uncharted: Eye of Indra - First Episode on PSN Today

100°
256w ago - Naughty Dog's Lead Game Designer Neil Druckmann has revealed that the first episode of Uncharted: Eye of Indra is hitting PSN today.

To quote: I hope everyone's digging UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. It's awesome that so many of you are already playing through the single player campaign for the second time, or even multiple times.

For all of you wanting more Nathan Drake, you're in luck - hitting the PSN today is UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra - a four episode Motion Comic - it's an original prequel story to UNCHARTED: Drake's Fortune. We've been working on this baby for the past year and it's been brutal not being able to talk about it.

For those unfamiliar with them, a Motion Comic is essentially an animated comic book - you watch it like a movie. Characters move, there's some 3D effects, and cool panel transitions.

Expect some of your favorite characters and voice-actors from the UNCHARTED universe to show up throughout the story. Other than Nolan North reprising his role as Nathan Drake, I can't announce who else shows up in the story as that'll spoil some of the fun.

We're launching the first episode for free to whet your appetite and the rest of the episodes...

256w ago - Here is the European PSN update, courtesy of Mike Kebby from the SCEE PlayStation Store Team as follows:

We have a varied offering of content this week, but the big news is that we'll have Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars available for download on Friday!

Also available on Friday is the release of the full game Hannah Montana: Rock out the Show, as well as four packs for the game too.

That's not all for the PSP this week however, as we also have WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010, Marvel Superhero Squad, Astro Boy and G-Force available for you. The latest mini title is also added to the store, in the shape of Red Bull X Fighters.

For the PS3, the demo for NBA 2K10 is ready for you to try, as well as the first packs for EyePet (which is released in stores this week) so you can start customising your pet with some new content already. There are also free packs for Midnight Club Los Angeles and Cross Edge, and as usual more content for Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

We also have two new dynamic themes available this week, for the titles EyePet and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, and trailers for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.

We've also added new titles into the Special Offers section this week too, with the full rundown of al content...

GTA: Chinatown Wars Launches Today for PSP on UMD and PSN

100°
256w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video and announced that GTA: Chinatown Wars launches today for PSP on UMD and PSN.

To quote: With Grand Theft Auto: China Chinatown Wars hitting for PSP today, Rockstar Games sent along a brand new clip from the game. Like you'd see on any talk show, they also set up the clip; here's Rich Rosado, a RockStar producer.

Hello all! It's pleasure for me to introduce this next clip for the PSP and PSPgo fans reading this out there. We know that a lot of fans have been waiting to finally get their hands on Chinatown Wars and we're thrilled to finally bring an even more refined version of this game to the PSP.

For anyone that hasn't heard anything about Chinatown Wars yet, I can tell you that it brings a unique, arcade-like approach to the series. We really rethought the way a portable GTA experience could work from the ground up. On the PSP, the game includes some exclusive missions, music, re-optimized controls, and an intense high-resolution graphical overhaul that could only be done on this platform.

Some may still not realize this, but Chinatown Wars is actually the biggest portable GTA we've ever done - even bigger than Liberty City Stories or Vice City...

Video: Coming to PSN this Week: Trine for PlayStation 3

100°
256w ago - Nobilis Product Manager Olivier Vermeille has revealed today that Trine will be hitting Sony's PSN this week for PlayStation 3.

To quote: I'm really happy to be able to tell you that it's coming to the US PlayStation Store this Thursday, October 22!

This long-expected innovative action / platform game that combines 2D gameplay with 3D graphics is almost here! Acclaimed by players throughout the world, Trine will be available for download Thursday on the PlayStation Network.

Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Trine is balanced between action and puzzle solving sequences, which are just fantastic to play. Thanks to an extensive use of physics, you'll be able to solve puzzles in many different ways, whether you play alone by switching characters or alongside with a friend (up to 3 players simultaneously on the same system). Just take a peek at this trailer and you'll get a sense of what I'm talking about!

For those of you who are always on the hunt for PS3 Trophies, rest assured! I'm thrilled...
