104w ago - Sony PlayStation Public Relations Manager Aram Jabbari has revealed today that Soul Sacrifice hits PS Vita this April 30th, alongside the official box art and pre-order extras detailed below!

To quote: Since it was announced for North America, and as new assets and details are rolled out to eager fans worldwide, excitement for Soul Sacrifice has only increased.

No other title for PlayStation Vita combines the same frantic real-time combat, thrilling sense of scale, smartly interwoven cooperative multiplayer, or meaningful character customization... Not to mention the contributions of legends of gaming like designer Keiji Inafune or composer Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama.

For weeks, fans have asked for more info about the game's North American release, wanting a final date and box art, and details about possible pre-order extras. Finally, those questions can be answered!

Soul Sacrifice for PS Vita launches in stores and via PlayStation Network on April 30th, 2013. As for the box art, it is essentially the same as that which Japanese fans will proudly display on their shelves (or pedestals, if you're a pedestal kind of person):

Fans who pre-order Soul Sacrifice will receive an exclusive pack of in-game content - it will not be sold anywhere else!

Video: Doodle God Launches on PlayStation Vita Today, Trailer Out

105w ago - SPL Game Designer Konstantin Feofanov has posted up a video trailer announcing that Doodle God is launching on PlayStation Vita today.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello to all the happy owners of PS Vita. I'm Konstantin Feofanov, game designer at SPL, the studio behind the popular Doodle God series, which is available on your system from today, priced at £4.79/€5.99.

This project was very interesting for us, since we not only got the opportunity to carefully transfer the gameplay of this funny game, but also to use the best features of PS Vita without making the game overly complicated, but more addictive and friendly to our players.

The essence of the game is simple yet complex. You are a god, standing at the threshold of new discoveries. You have an empty, bare world before you, begging to be filled, and there are indeed lots of things to fill it with.

Starting with ordinary things like marshes and mountains, our new god will uncover the secrets of the human soul, study the tricky concepts of magic and discover the fascinating world of science.

All of it can be completed by combining various elements, like air or fire. There is a twist to it, though: the player starts out on the long road of creation with only four elements, but will end up with...

100°
108w ago - D3Publisher Assistant Producer Miki Takahashi has confirmed that Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable officially invades PlayStation Vita today!

Below are the details, to quote: I hope everyone had good holidays with your friends and families, but it's time to kick-start your gaming new year. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable will be available for $39.99 in North America as a digital PS Vita download when the PSN update goes live later today.

Earth Defense Force 2017 first landed on US soil in 2007. With its addictive and exhilarating bug-squashing gameplay, the Japanese developer Sandlot succeeded in catching the attention of gamers.

Now, thanks to the high performance of PS Vita, we are able to bring the EDF world to the handheld console with many new additions including online co-op and versus modes, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing.

The game has a total of 60 missions, including seven new missions. Each mission can be played on five difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, and Inferno. Yes, you're reading this right. "Inferno" is harder than the "hardest"! At first, you might feel "Inferno" is insanely difficult, but don't worry.

The more difficult levels you play, the stronger weapons you'll get. By the time...

Video: Virtuous Flame Introduces PlayStation Vita eCFW ARK Demo

250°
110w ago - Today Sony PS Vita hacker wololo shared a video from Virtuous Flame who introduces PlayStation Vita eCFW ARK in a demonstration presentation courtesy of Structures360 via YouTube below.

To quote: Developer Virtuous Flame, the dev behind many projects including the recent Open CMA, just recently revealed some information on Chinese scene site duowan.com about a kernel exploit and Vita eCFW (a Custom Firmware running on the Vita within the PSP emulator) he's been working on, dubbed ARK.

Virtuous Flame revealed that he has access to another working kernel exploit other than that of Frostegater's, working on 2.02 and running his own version of a eCFW. This is extremely good news considering kernel exploits in the psp emu can be hard to come by, it's always good to have more.

Virtuous Flame's eCFW ARK is something similar to that of Total_Noob's CEF. Virtuous Flame is already hard at work on a new eCFW Ark through a new kernel exploit, on the latest Vita 2.02 official firmware update.

ARK along with this exploit has some advantages compared to TN-C such as a neat feature of being able to instantly go into loading into the eCFW ISO menu instead of having to load the save data (note: this is most likely a feature of the game used for the exploit rather than...

Addictive Puzzler Burn the Rope Singes PlayStation Vita Today

50°
110w ago - General Manager of RingZero Game Studio Franck Blaevoet has announced that their addictive puzzler Burn the Rope singes PlayStation Vita consoles beginning today!

To quote: We are happy to announce the release of Burn the Rope for PS Vita. Burn the Rope is an game where you - as the title implies - must burn as much rope as possible in each level.

To start burning the rope you simply tap PS Vita's front touchscreen wherever there is rope. Once the rope starts burning, you control the direction of the flame by rotating the screen.

The flame always burns up and it will burn out if it runs out of rope. The speed at which the flame travels along the rope is determined by the angle of the rope. You can also control the flame using the touch screen, by rotating the PS Vita or you can use the rear touchpad if you don't want your fingers to block the view.

In addition, you can pinch on the rear touchpad to zoom in or zoom out. This can help if you have really big fingers or are all thumbs. Oh, it also helps if you want to be more precise in starting the flame.

As you progress through the levels, you will encounter bugs crawling along the rope, different flame colors, and different colors of rope. Different bugs react differently to the flame: For instance, the...
