267w ago - Per Matt Morton (Associate Producer, SCEA-Santa Monica Studios) today:
Hi PixelJunkies! I'm Matt Morton, Associate Producer at SCEA Santa Monica Studio and I've had the great fortune of working on the PixelJunk series since the very first title, PixelJunk Racers. We've been working hard to keep spreading the PixelJunk Love (as Deb Mars calls it) and wanted to give you a heads up on the upcoming patch for PixelJunk Monsters and PixelJunk Monsters: Encore.
Recently, Jeff Rubenstein got to visit Q-Games in Kyoto (the lucky so-and-so) and shot an interview with Dylan to talk more about the patch for PixelJunk Monsters. Check it out...
The patch will be releasing VERY soon, with Japan getting the first patch release on October 23. If all goes well with final testing, you will see the patch in SCEA and SCEE territories on October 30. If there are any delays to the above mentioned dates, we will be sure to update the blog to let you know about it, so stay tuned!
The Q-Games team has been hard at work on the PixelJunk Monsters patch and has packed a TON of great features into this great game. I'll give you a quick breakdown of some of the new features you will expect to see:

To quote: Finally, we can exclusively reveal that the great top-down shooter NovaStrike is hitting the European PSN Store this Thursday, priced at 7.99 Euros. The European version will be the enhanced, patched version which comes complete with XMB music and Trophies.
To coincide with this announcement, we've got an exclusive interview and some great looking screenshots of the European version of the game. We do hope all our readers take a look at the game when it launches, indie developers need our support.
268w ago - PomPom Games has revealed a PSN shoot-em-up called Astro Tripper. Once again, this is a retro-styled arcade game in the style of other horizontal side-scrolling shooters.
According to the official site, the game will promise "UFOS. Fat Motherships. Tanks. Choppers. Slimy Slug creatures. Alien Insects. Aztec structures brimming with electricity. And of course, Big Bosses!"
This PSN release is scheduled to release "soon", and will feature 1080p graphics, online leaderboards, and Trophy support.
From their site: Astro Tripper is a furious shoot-em-up experience inspired by the painful, knuckle busting experiences of years gone by. An evolution of PomPom's 2001 award winning game, Space Tripper.
Travel the surface of large horizontally-scrolling platforms, and pit your highly maneuverable craft against hoards of enemies eager to blow you to bits, eat you or worse.
Gameplay is simple. You are free to travel anywhere on the platform at anytime, but don't fall off! Powerful Blue Lasers and Red Spread Lasers come equipped, so use both weapons tactically to get through tricky situations. Power up your weapons with power crystals dropped by destroyed enemies. Oh, did we mention the blasting absolutely anything that moves?
268w ago - Today Travis Williams (Sr. Producer, SCEA) revealed that November will an exciting month for PAIN fans as the the next environment, dubbed Movie Studio, is on the way. Basically it's their take on the wackiness of movie making, as the video below points out.
To quote: So to directly contradict my earlier statement ... PAIN development is (at least somewhat) a democracy. We have listened to what you wanted and tried our best to make sure all the things that you wanted are in this area.
That includes (but isn't limited to):
• More than one launcher location (There are three that you can dynamically switch to)
• Single Player Fun with Explosives
• New Cratetastic Mode
• Unlockable FREE Character
• HORSE Mode
• Bowling Mode (With all new distractions)
Movie Studio is the first area that we created after hearing all your input (democracy again). Amusement Park was started before PAIN was released (and took quite a while to make). Movie Studio was made in a third of that time, and I think it shows how much better we as a team have gotten at this since the original PAIN area.
We also have a new single player mode in the Lot called CRATETASTIC. I think you will love the mode...
