Video: Beatshapers Reveal Z-Run Coming to PlayStation Vita This May

34w ago - Beatshapers Founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov revealed today alongside a video trailer that Z-Run is coming to PlayStation Vita this May.

To quote: Hello there! This is Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers, and we're proudly announcing Z-Run for PS Vita, coming to PlayStation Store this May.

We moved back the launch date since last summer's announcement in order to make our game bigger and better. Our previous games on PS Vita include StarDrone Extreme, BreakQuest, Furmins, and dozens of PSP minis - along with the recently announced PS4 title, Ready to Run.

Today, we're presenting a gameplay tutorial trailer with the awesome song "You Better Run," made especially for the game by The Spin Wires band.

The world has been overrun by flesh-hungry zombies, and you're stranded in the middle of a post-apocalyptic city with no way out. Are you going to just stand there and get eaten, and turn into a brainless creature, too? Not likely.

In Z-Run, you never stand still. Anyone who does winds up dead. Stay on your toes if you want to stay alive. The city is a mess after the zombie apocalypse struck, so you need to be agile as well as fast while you attempt to sprint through the crowds of undead assailants....

Spry Fox: Road Not Taken on PS4, PS Vita: Living a Full, 15-Year Life

34w ago - Spry Fox CEO David Edery shared details today on Road Not Taken for PS4 / PS Vita dubbed Living a Full, 15-Year Life below.

To quote: This post is about Road Not Taken, Spry Fox's upcoming roguelike for PS4 & PS Vita. If this is your first time hearing about RNT, check out our [Register or Login to view links]!

Lately, we've been doing a ton of playtesting of Road Not Taken, particularly with fellow game developers. (If you're ever looking for brutally honest feedback, other game developers are a good place to start.)

In general, the feedback has been pretty positive: people love the game's basic mechanics, art and audio. But one big issue repeatedly crept up in many of our playtests: people weren't sensing the depth of the game and weren't feeling a strong sense of progression. This post is all about how we've been fixing that.

I like to think of Road Not Taken as an iceberg floating in the ocean: a tiny percentage of the total game is visible above the surface when you first start playing, while the vast majority of the game lies unseen, waiting to be discovered.

A large part of that depth comes from all the unusual creatures and objects you can encounter as you explore the enchanted forests of the game. Another large...

Sony Announces PlayStation Vita Pets is Coming on June 3rd, 2014

34w ago - Sony Producer Jenny Murphy announced today that PlayStation Vita Pets is coming on June 3rd, 2014.

Below are the details, to quote: We are very excited to announce that we will be releasing [Register or Login to view links] exclusively for PS Vita.

PlayStation Vita Pets is no ordinary pet game! The team at Spiral House set out to make something that was more than just a pet sim - we wanted to make something that felt like a real game, with characters, fun and adventure, so that's exactly what we did.

In the game you pick from four different puppies, each with their own personality, sense of humor and character traits. Once you've gotten to know each other and learned the skills needed to venture outside the safety of your home you'll be able to embark (no pun intended) on the adventure of Castlewood Island and uncover the long lost legend of a king and his dog.

That's right; outside of the home where you dress, play with, bathe and train your dog is a whole island of adventure to explore and puzzles to solve.

Together you'll be able to explore a massive forest, venture into multiple locations like spooky old mines and graveyards to ultimately make your way to the legendary castle...

Video: Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is Out Today for PS3 and PS Vita

50°
34w ago - XSEED Games Localization Specialist Ryan Graff posted up a video announcing that Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is out today for PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: Ragnarok Odyssey ACE on PS3 and PS Vita is a game about slaying giants, and now that we're finally at launch, some of us feel like we've fought one ourselves!

Not just because it's a large game, although it certainly is. ACE is a massively expanded version of the original Ragnarok Odyssey, with enough new content to make it about twice the size this time around.

The most prominent new feature is a 400-story tower, with enough monsters and new story content to fill it; you'll see that once you reach the original game's ending, which is now the new game's midpoint. Throughout the game, you'll also discover new character skills, new weapon types, new NPC sidekicks, and a slew of other new features and conveniences.

ACE is the first Ragnarok Odyssey game to appear on PS3 as well as PSVita, with readily available cross play (for up to four players) and cross saving between the two.

The game also allows players to import their save data from the original Ragnarok Odyssey, bringing over their character's name, appearance, and cards (except...

Joe Danger on PlayStation Vita: 2 Full Games, 3 New Characters

50°
34w ago - Hello Games developer Alex Wiltshire announced that Joe Danger on PlayStation Vita features 2 full fames and 3 new characters.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello I'm Alex! I work with Sean and the gang at Hello Games.

We made Joe Danger, the super-colorful, super-challenging racey platformy series starring a fat little stuntman! People have seemed to like it loads, calling it all kinds of nice things like "astounding" (Official PlayStation Magazine) and "perfect" (Game Informer).

So, you might remember that we're bringing Joe Danger to PS Vita, and I'm here to tell you that we're nearly finished! Also, I wanted to tell you some super special news.

So first up, both of our big-console games, Joe Danger and its sequel, Joe Danger 2: The Movie, are running on PS Vita at a smooth-as-butter 60 frames a second, looking clean as you like, and they play so, so nicely in your hands.

60FPS has always been so important to us, because that's how the games we grew up with ran. So it's fantastic that Vita can make it happen, especially since it totally looks just as good as the PS3 version. We're pushing about 400k polys a frame, which is pretty amazing. It loads real fast too.

You won't believe the work that's gone into making this happen - our friends...
