To quote: Hey Shapers! It's been two years since Sound Shapes originally launched on PS3 and PS Vita, and less than a year since its debut on PS4 (Pretty awesome on PS4, eh?).

So first we want to THANK YOU for your continued support of Sound Shapes. It's amazing to see all of the great levels that the community has made. The creativity is really mind blowing to see.

At its basic level, our community of players has turned simple shapes like this:

Sound Shapes: Nature and Brass... into AMAZING levels! So today we're releasing two new DLC packs across PS4, PS3, and PS Vita:

• Brass Sound Pack - $0.99

This sound pack features a ton of brass horn sounds and loops to jazz/funk/groove up your levels, and includes 5 new Beat School levels and Trophies.

• Nature Art Pack - $0.99

This graphics pack features surfaces and background decorations with a nature theme. Things like trees, plants, flowers, clouds, sun, and more.

Sony Goes Hands-on With Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita

50°
33w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on with Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita today with details below.

To quote: The PlayStation social team recently had a chance to play a build of Borderlands 2 on PS Vita, and as the group's resident Borderlandophile, I immediately called dibs. What can I say about this game? It's Borderlands 2 on the Vita!

Controlling Borderlands 2 on PS Vita is a customizable affair: just go into options and remap to your heart's content. To change a control, tap the action or button (even the abilities assigned to the touch screen or rear touch pad) you want to change, then tap wherever you want the action to be.

By default, tapping different areas of Vita's rear touch pad yield a sprint or a melee attack, while a tap on the front screen tosses a grenade or activates your character-specific ability.

Shoulder buttons L and R still aim and shoot, though I did notice a useful new feature that takes advantage of PS Vita's built-in gyroscope: when you're aiming down the sight, moving PS Vita will adjust your aim.

Environments and character models are surprisingly detailed, and the game overall runs at a solid clip, generally hovering in the vicinity of 30 frames per second. Slicing dudes up as my main cyborg-man-alien-mystery-assassin-thing...

Video: Celsius Game Studios: Drifter is Coming to PS4 and PS Vita

33w ago - Celsius Game Studios Founder Colin Walsh announced today alongside a video that Drifter is coming to PS4 and PS Vita platforms with details below.

To quote: While growing up I was always fascinated by space exploration and I was especially fond of the many video games set in space such as Frontier, Starflight, and Privateer.

In fact, it's long been a dream of mine to take all of what I enjoyed about those sorts of games and try and create my own game in the genre. [Register or Login to view links] is that game, and now I'm happy to say that another dream of mine is being fulfilled now that Drifter is coming to PS4 and PS Vita.

A Massive Galaxy To Explore

Drifter is an open-world, sandbox, space trading game with a procedurally-generated galaxy 100,000 light years across, made up of tens of thousands of star systems to explore and features an original soundtrack by composer Danny Baranowsky.

In the game you take on the role of a spaceship captain attempting to eke out a living among the stars by trading goods between star systems, hunting pirates for bounties, mining asteroids for valuable ore, or even becoming a pirate yourself.

33w ago - Thomas Happ Games LLC Programmer, Artist, Designer and Composer Tom Happ announced that Sci-fi sidescroller Axiom Verge is coming to PS4 and PS Vita today with a video trailer below!

To quote: I'm Tom Happ, the sole programmer-artist-designer-composer person behind [Register or Login to view links], a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure coming out on PS4 and PS Vita in early 2015.

If you've not heard of Axiom Verge (or even if you have), the best thing to do is to put on your best pair of headphones and watch the trailer below:

So, What's This About Glitches?

People usually try to describe games in terms of other games, established genres, numbers of items to find, numbers of modes to play, etc. And if it's an indie game, there is often a mind-bending new mechanic involved ("Can only be played during a tracheotomy!") as well. I'll give you these bullet points in just a bit.

But first: Think of your earliest encounters with video games - before you had any preconceptions of what to expect, how they were made, or why they were made that way. Didn't they just seem magically limitless? It might be that a game only had a set number of areas and tight constraints on what you could do, but for all you knew, the world continued past the edges of...
