Sony Announces God of War Collection is Out Today on PS Vita

50°
32w ago - Santa Monica Studio Community Strategist Aaron Kaufman announced that God of War Collection is out today on PS Vita!

To quote: God of War defined the word "epic" like no other when it debuted on PS2 in 2005, introducing an iconic character to PlayStation fans worldwide - Kratos.

Once the servant of Ares (who saved the Spartan General and his army from annihilation in battle), Kratos was tricked into murdering his family, forcing his metamorphosis into the "Ghost of Sparta." Now, chained by the Blades of Chaos, Kratos unlocks the memories of his past, seeking redemption for his sins and vengeance against Ares, the God of War.

This is where the story of Kratos begins, a saga in which players will encounter a skyscraper-sized Leviathan, explore a twisted temple on the back of a massive Titan, decimate enemies with 100 hit combos with the mighty Blades of Chaos, and discover gaming moments that will stay with them forever.

I'll personally never forget "I am what the Gods have made me!" I'd like to think that line alone inspired a generation of gamers.

Now, it's time to bring the legacy of God of War and God of War II to PS Vita, so that no matter where you are, you all can experience the...

Video: Titan Attacks! Out Today on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita Platforms

50°
32w ago - Curve Studios Marketing Manager Rob Clarke announced that Titan Attacks is out today on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: It's been interesting working on a game that's very open about its debt to '80s arcade platformers, especially speaking as someone who got a space invader permanently tattooed on his wrist at the tender age of 23.

I guess we all show our love for classic gaming in different ways, and while mine was several hours of pain in a tattoo parlor in Camden, UK, indie developer Puppygames had the much smarter idea of creating Titan Attacks!, a love letter to pure arcade action that launches today for $11.99.

You can spell it with or without the exclamation mark, but we think it adds that extra level of excitement if you keep it in.

We've been working on Titan Attacks! here at Curve since the holiday, and it's our very first PS4, PS3, and PS Vita cross buy game. One of the cool things we've seen with Titan Attacks! during development has been just watching people play the game.

We've taken it to several different shows here in the UK and abroad, and every time someone sits down to play they are nearly instantly engrossed in the action and often reluctant to stop playing,...

Sony Goes Hands-on With Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita

50°
33w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on with Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita today with details below.

To quote: The PlayStation social team recently had a chance to play a build of Borderlands 2 on PS Vita, and as the group's resident Borderlandophile, I immediately called dibs. What can I say about this game? It's Borderlands 2 on the Vita!

Controlling Borderlands 2 on PS Vita is a customizable affair: just go into options and remap to your heart's content. To change a control, tap the action or button (even the abilities assigned to the touch screen or rear touch pad) you want to change, then tap wherever you want the action to be.

By default, tapping different areas of Vita's rear touch pad yield a sprint or a melee attack, while a tap on the front screen tosses a grenade or activates your character-specific ability.

Shoulder buttons L and R still aim and shoot, though I did notice a useful new feature that takes advantage of PS Vita's built-in gyroscope: when you're aiming down the sight, moving PS Vita will adjust your aim.

Environments and character models are surprisingly detailed, and the game overall runs at a solid clip, generally hovering in the vicinity of 30 frames per second. Slicing dudes up as my main cyborg-man-alien-mystery-assassin-thing...
