- Believe the hype the second time around?
You know what the problem was with Killzone's original release. It was nothing to do with the quality of the gameplay or the much-touted 'startling' never-before-seen level of graphical brilliance.
Killzone was a classic case of a game that couldn't possibly live up to the hype, so it's little wonder developer Guerilla has been content only to drip-feed information, screens and footage of the sequel.
Despite this, we're optimistic that Killzone 2 will deliver everything the original promised - and then some. The war between the ISA and evil Helghast is ramped up several notches with the former taking the fight to the latter's own home world.
That's only the half of it though, as your special forces squad's dropship is quickly shot down by a lightning-firing anti-aircraft cannon the Helghast has rigged up. Their mastery of the weather and the planet's harsh conditions also poses severe problems for your struggling team once you crash-land and set out on foot. It's hell. We really want to play as the ginger-stached badass from the trailer, and the game's blind-fire cover system looks pretty damn kick-ass as well.
