275w ago - The box art itself still hasn't been shown on Amazon (but it should come soon, as the IGN voting for the boxart earlier this week is already over for the US). The one below is simply of the three candidates (and the obvious favorite).
But until now, we haven't really known what was going to be the in CE edition of the game. Amazon's got the lowdown on what will come for your $80.
Like a lot of CE versions of games these days, Resistance 2 will come with a bonus disc with behind-the-scenes footage, video commentary from Insomniac themselves, and a video dubbed "Twisted History" chronology video.
Of course, there's more. It also comes with an exclusive multiplayer skin (HVAP Wraith), a double-sided art book 'covering a war-torn America from two unique perspectives', and even a sneak peek at the soon-to-happen Resistance novel "The Gathering Storm." Yeah, they're doing one too.
Finally (yes, there's STILL more), a 5.5″ figurine of a Chimera Hybrid will come with the package (holding a Bullseye).
286w ago - Developer CD Projekt today revealed that its reworked and tweaked version of The Witcher, titled The Witcher Enhanced Edition, has been delayed to early September.
Originally slated for a May release, CD Projekt made mention of the delay in April, but had not specified a new date for the expanded PC fantasy RPG.
The revised launch date was announced in an update to the game's community page, where the company explained that the delay was necessary to prepare ten different language localizations of the game for a simultaneous release.
Beyond bug fixes and stability improvements, The Witcher Enhanced Edition will see the addition of fifty new character models for an increased variety in NPCs, new voice acting, a redone translation, improved facial animation and gestures, and a revised inventory system. Most of the changes are a direct result of player feedback.
The new content will be provided free of charge to those users who have already purchased the game. The retail version of the Enhanced Edition will include several bonus items including a video DVD, two music CDs and an extra DVD with bonus materials, such as an adventure editor.

290w ago - Another fan-fueled Diablo Rumor Mill has propelled out in full swing after PC Gamer's July edition wrapped up with the following text:
"NEXT MONTH: Have you ever had a secret that you're just dying to blurt out, but you can't for another month, and the stress of holding it in makes you want to do the pee-pee dance? That's what the PC Gamer staff is doing right now, because the August issue will be chock-full of exclusives, including a top-secret cover story so huge we had to go to [CENSORED] to get it. Just 30 days more ..."
Here are a few thoughts to ponder on this brainstorming puzzle PC Gamer unleashed:
- PC Gamer was probably among the Gaming press Magazines who visited Blizzard Entertainment early on May, a few weeks ago.
- If you remember, PC Gamer knew about the Starcraft II announcement last May 2007. Blizzard Entertainment made the announcement at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals (WWI) at Seoul, South Korea.
- PC Gamer can't talk about it for the next 30 days ... the 2008 Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals at Paris, France takes place on June 28-29.
- June 29 is the date Diablo II shipped on USA (2000) and the same date the expansion Lord of Destruction shipped on Europe a year later (2001).
290w ago - Update: It appears that Konami may have dropped the $500 insurance charge and that pre-orders have temporarily ceased. The Konami online store asks customers to "Please check back tomorrow (May 20, 2008), when we will make available more stock for pre-orders."
One might think that after the registration disaster that was the Metal Gear Online beta sign up process that Konami would be well prepared for the pre-ordering onslaught that awaited them today.
Surprisingly, it wasn't, resulting in what can be be described as a clusterfuck of massive proportions as many gamers attempted to order their Metal Gear Solid 4 limited edition PlayStation 3 bundle.
In addition to tacking on a $500 insurance charge–which we're told is mandatory and refundable, though we can't confirm right now–we've yet to read of a single successful check out for the "gun metal" version of the console. As of right now, the Konami store is throwing a 503 error, most likely due to the heavy volume of MGS4 fans trying desperately to buy their PS3s.
Anyone out there lucky enough to secure one yet? Thanks to the many tipsters who sent this one in.
