New Twisted Metal Details for Sony's PlayStation 3 Console

100°
291w ago - Unless you have been living under a rock you probably already have heard of Twisted Metal coming to the PS3.

This game is personally one of my top 3 car combat games of all time, plus the new PS3 version is being developed by one of the best developers in the game Industry, David Jaffe. He is well known for the Twisted Metal series and the God of War series.

He confirmed that this game will be coming exclusively to the PS3 with no further info on the game until now.

I have covered every possible factual thing related to Twisted Metal for the PS3 on the Internet for months, and here are some of my findings, but remember nothing has been confirmed about this game so these are all still rumors:

• Tons of weapons and combo attacks
• Improved vehicle physics
• Game will run at a smooth 60-frames-per-second
• All the old characters are back including some new faces
• Co-op modes

I personally can't wait to see more news and trailers for this game because we haven't heard much news about this triple A title in a while.

Sony Japan is Seeking 'New Game Hardware' Testers

50°
291w ago - A [Register or Login to view links] has appeared on the Sony Computer Entertainment Web site, looking for individuals to test "new model game hardware."

The Sony job listing says, "Experience an in-development game console (hardware) early!"

To quote: Job duties include checking on, reporting on and giving input for a in-development game hardware. The listing's Q&A reads: "This is specifically for a new model and unannounced game hardware for PS3, PS2, PSP and its peripherals."

Note: In the original Japanese text, Sony separates those hardware platforms with commas only (there's not an "and), making it somewhat vague whether this is new hardware for each or all three.

This is a full time position. It starts this March and looks to run a year. There's a one month trail period, after which those awarded the position can look to make over ¥1,000 (US $10.70) per hour. Travel expenses are covered, and there's the possibility for a raise. This position is in Tokyo and is not open to students.

This very public job listing might get more fuel to those very persistent PSP2 rumors. Though, it also might simply be more a continuation of the current PSP and PS3 hardware iterations: slimmer with more memory.

Zuma Available Today for PS3 on Sony's PlayStation Network

250°
291w ago - PopCap Games Vice President of Video Game Platforms Greg Canessa announced the next in a multi-title publishing deal with Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) to bring their games to the PS3 via PlayStation Network today:

Today I'm pleased to announce the availability of our next title, the action puzzle smash hit [Register or Login to view links], on PSN! Zuma is one of our biggest and most popular games of all time, and it's one of those games that truly appeals to hardcore and casual gamers alike.

It's just the right blend of action and strategy, with a healthy dose of skill and a bit of luck as well. I'm very happy with how great the game looks on the PS3 and how well the controls map to the PS3 controller.

And, like the case with Bejeweled 2, Zuma includes an absolute ton of gameplay - 13 temples, more than 50 levels of puzzle fun, Adventure and Gauntlet modes, unlockables and more. The game looks and sounds great in HD with Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and includes exclusive features like Trophy support and PSP remote play, which you'll only find on PSN.

In collaboration with our partners at SOE, the team has worked hard to bring our biggest franchises and most popular games - Bejeweled 2 and Zuma - to you first, for your immediate enjoyment...

Killzone 2 Helghast Forces to Invade Sony's PlayStation Home

300°
292w ago - PlayStation Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared the following "intel" via PS Blog today:

In the upcoming (just 12 days away!) Killzone 2, the ISA forces lead an assault of the planet Helghan. But that doesn't mean the Helghast are on the defensive. In fact, my intel tells me that the Helghast forces are en route to PlayStation Home today.

Fortunately, the Helghast won't be armed with STA-52 Light Assault Rifles (per se), but with demo codes for Killzone 2.

So if you don't already have access (by pre-ordering), just jump into Home tonight starting at about 6pm Pacific (9pm Eastern) and keep an eye out for the Helghast soldiers. When you find one, work up the courage and... just ask. If they've got any left, they'll direct message you with the demo key.

Then you can punch that code into the PlayStation Store (upper right corner), download the demo, and repay the Helghan emissary by... invading their planet. Oh well.
