Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storms PlayStation 3 Tomorrow!

50°
306w ago - Per Hiroshi Matsuyama (CyberConnect2) via the official PS Blog today:

My name is Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2, the developer of NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM.

Last time I spoke with you, I covered some of our basic game features. Today, as promised, I'd like to share some of our development secrets with you so that you can learn about how we made this incredible game.

We began work on the game in January 2006, while most of our company was still working on the .hack//G.U. series for PlayStation 2. We hand-picked a team of our 10 most obsessive developers which constantly grew in number as the project progressed.

The team expanded from 10 to 20, 30 and eventually 65 people, which were all working on the game for the last 9 months of development. Our basic concept for the game was to eliminate the lines between traditional animation and video games. This is a pretty serious goal! We knew that to meet this goal, we would have to produce a game the likes of which nobody has ever seen.

Fundamentally speaking, I think CyberConnect2 is good at action games. After gameplay, we pay a lot of attention to graphics. With Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, we knew we couldn't just advance our graphics technology by just one step - we had to aim for two steps....

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Arrives Tomorrow, DLC Lined Up

50°
307w ago - MotorStorm: Pacific Rift's Game Director Nigel Kershaw shared the following today via PS Blog:

Its launch day for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift in North America tomorrow (w00t)!

It means you all can enjoy MotorStorm Pacific Rift and we can all go on holiday. Except by this point, the UK is accelerating into winter in typical rainy, cold fashion.

So it's the Southern Hemisphere for the sun worshippers amongst the team, and a catching-up on a big pile of games in a darkened room for us redheads that find the sun overrated.

Once were all rested its back to the development bunker to finish off the DLC we have lined up for you guys in the coming months. We've got a pile of stuff waiting in the wings, and, you'll be glad to know, a lot of it is free. We're going to try and give you something new to play with every week, and we've also got some major packs in development that should be on the store after Christmas.

In the meantime, get those Time Trial lap times up on the leaderboards (you're lucky as I've put a moratorium on our QA guys posting up there for two weeks, to let you guys get good at it), have a laugh with split screen, and enjoy this next bout of brutal off-road racing.

Laters!

RPG Eternal Sonata Composes New PS3 Features Tomorrow

50°
308w ago - Stephanie Fernandez (Localization Producer at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.) has shared the following via PS Blog today:

Hello, my name is Stephanie Fernandez and I worked as the Localization Producer on Eternal Sonata for the PLAYSTATION 3.

Eternal Sonata will be shipping tomorrow, October 21st, and it will include new features and extras that can only be found on the PLAYSTATION 3 platform.

In preparation for the game's release, I wanted to share with you some of my thoughts and insights from working on the game and give you a few more details about the new exclusive content.

When I started working on Eternal Sonata for the PS3, I was pleased to find out there would be additional story material incorporated into the game that is unique to the platform. I had always felt there were some aspects of the story which might be a little too vague for anyone who didn't have the advantage of the background knowledge that I had about the story.

But now there are scenes that give the game player a little more insight; scenes that reveal a bit more general information about the concept behind the story and more specific details regarding character motivations.

Not that everything is spelled out point-by-point-you...
