280w ago - HBJ5, a member on FinalFantasy-xiii.net Forums (linked above), has found a leaked version of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer shown at Jump Festa 2007 which has never seen public eyes outside of Square-Enix's evil Closed Mega Theater.
To quote: We're not sure where this video has been leaked from, but we can only thank the Photobucket user a thousand times for uploading it for us. Thank God they have a good quality camera.
From what we can tell, this isn't the complete trailer, but is a good portion of it. The music is apparently from the final boss battle in Lost Oddyssey but I don't remember it. This trailer like all the rest is 100% CG.

282w ago - The announcement was made earlier today that FFXIII is coming out on Xbox 360 too. In fact, it'll be a simultaneous release on both PS3 and Xbox 360 for US and Europe. Today's Square Enix E3 press conference clarified a few details.
First: Final Fantasy XIII is still a PS3-exclusive... at least in Japan. According to Kotaku, Square Enix exec Shinji Hashimoto told reporters: "I think you are right [in assuming that (the Xbox 360 version) is not coming out in Japan.]" It will only appear on Xbox 360 in English-speaking territories.
In addition, Final Fantasy XIII will release in Japan first -- and then will be localized for the international audience. That means Japanese gamers will enjoy FFXIII on PS3 long before the rest of the world will see it go multiplatform.
Hashimoto says that the Xbox 360's large install base in English territories is what led to the decision to make the game multiplatform. Because the decision was recent, there's no way of estimating how many discs the Xbox 360 version will be.
Also, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still in development as a PS3 exclusive.
282w ago - In an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Tetsuya Nomura offers some interesting details about Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, Blu-ray version of the film out there is already a certain time. We thought so far only a few bits of footage had been added, but little information and a complete absence of release date proved to be quite strange.
In fact, according to Nomura, these are passages of the whole scenario that have been added and others who have been modified. The Japanese release date has been decided, but it will have to wait (probably to the event DK Σ3713 in early August) so that it is unveiled. Nomura also notes that a big announcement that should accompany the release date, without giving more details. Such vagueness should encourage the wildest rumors.
Tetsuya Nomura is also rapidly on the development of Final Fantasy XIII Versus, a topic that had already provoked a general cafouillage a few weeks ago. The director of Thursday confides that the team is currently working above is very reduced, for the simple reason that the team kinematics is dedicated primarily to Advent Children Complete and programmers lend a hand to those of FFXIII.
No, really, Versus XIII should not arrive before long. As a consolation, we can expect to have FFXIII...
284w ago - Final Fantasy Dissidia is a game being developed by Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable. It was officially announced on the 8th of May 2007, after the trademark "Dissidia" was registered on te 6th of April 2007.
The purpose of the game is to help celebrate 20 years of Final Fantasy and as such, it will feature memorable characters from the fabled series. However, given a really quick start to its development, things seem to have slowed right down.
Up until last week, when Famitsu had a brief section on the game to announce that Jecht would be joining Tidus in the game (instead of Seymour, as many thought), there hadn't been any news on the game for a good three months. It was then, that they released a glut of new characters, including what appeared to be Golbez, Exdeath and Kefka.
We then have to go back another three months for the last piece of news, which was that Tidus would be joining the cast alongside possibly a Judge from Final Fantasy XII. This has been coupled with a new trailer and a brief interview in Dengeki magazine. This still doesn't really explain the slow progress though.
The overall lack of news has been coupled with Final Fantasy Dissidia's apparent no show from this year's E3, as it is currently not scheduled to be shown, which is puzzling...
