Unreal Tournament III coming to Australia in Feb for PS3

50°
347w ago - Those wondering when Unreal Tournament III would make it to Australian shores on the PlayStation 3 can breathe a sigh of relief today, with Midway sending out an updated release schedule stating that the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament III would be out in February.

The release schedule did have a little TBC notice beside it, which basically means that the February release date is yet to be confirmed, but it is more than likely that PlayStation 3 gamers will be blasting their way through Unreal Tournament III in February 2008.

Future US responds to Texas suit

50°
347w ago - Publisher Future US recently responded to the very strange charges filed against the company by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. AG Abbott claims that Future's website GamesRadar.com doesn't "adequately protect [children's] privacy and safety" and the site "unlawfully collect[s] personal information such as names, ages, and home addresses from children."

If true, this would violate the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Future US responded, "This is the first contact we have had from the Texas attorney general on this matter and we are urgently reviewing the complaint"

Shacknews properly notes that registration for their free RadarNation accounts is currently closed ("We're sorry, registration is currently unavailable. Please try again later") so we presume that has something to do with the "urgently reviewing" part of their response.

David Jaffe talks about being 'in bed' with Sony

50°
347w ago - David Jaffe, the mind behind the God of War and Twisted Metal franchise, may not work for Sony any more - but that doesn't mean he's no longer a PS Fanboy. His new games studio, Eat Sleep Play, is working on a PS2 version of Twisted Metal Head-On and will work on three exclusive games for Sony.

In a revealing Q&A with GameDaily, the outspoken game designer said, "I love the PlayStation 3. I love the PSP. I'm a big Sony fan. That doesn't mean that I'm not a 360 fan; I'm a Wii fan, and I love all the systems, but there's something about the PS3. I said it before when I was an employee and I'll say it again now, there's something just really elegant about playing games on that system."

The years of working with Sony has crafted a tight-knit relationship that Jaffe would love to continue. "So right now, we're looking to be in bed with Sony as long as they'll have us. Hopefully we'll make them happy. We'll make Sony proud, they'll like what we do, and they'll have us back time after time ... I mean the people there, they are like a family, I've worked with them for fourteen years; I have no desire to not work with them."

How to download Beats with a PS3 (not a PC)

50°
347w ago - Okay, so maybe you don't have a Windows PC that is capable of running the PlayStation Network downloader. That's okay. You may have a Mac, or you might be running Linux -- or you're just too darn afraid to install a new program on your computer. Whatever the reason, there is an alternative... provided you have a PS3.

1. Visit the PLAYSTATION Store (http://store.playstation.com/)on any computer. Complete purchase of Beats, but do not download it.
2. Log in to your PS3 using the same PSN account as the one used to purchase Beats.
3. Go to PLAYSTATION Network on the XMB. Click on Account Management.
4. Click on Transaction History.
5. Then, click on Download List. You will see Beats on this list.
6. Download to your PS3. Connect your PSP via USB and install your new favorite PSP game.

Hope this helps the few of you that simply cannot access the Store on your computer. If you're without a PS3 and a Windows PC, you're in tough luck for now. Why not just buy the game at a friend's house?

Eye of Marvel; PlayStation Eye playing cards on the way?

50°
347w ago - We've heard that Marvel will be releasing cards to use with the Eye of Judgement (or Eye of Judgment if you're American/Sony) next year to further expand the groundbreaking title's gameplay.

The new cards will feature all your Marvel favourites and will make use of the existing Eye of Judgement playing mat. Equally, the game could come out as a seperate Blu-ray disk or PS Store download but 'require The Eye of Judgment' in order to play it.

The way you play the game itself will change under the Marvel card set and most likely be supported by a future game update release. Assuming this is all true it would certainly make the Eye of Judgement less of a niche title and more of a mainstream winner, so we have our fingers crossed.

As soon as we get our hands on an official press release, this story remains in the rumor pot. If it were to happen, we expect it will go ahead around March next year.
