Worldwide PS3 Releases for the Week of October 5th, 2008

50°
315w ago - Did anyone else think that the Fracture demo wasn't as abysmal as you were expecting? Sure, it was the epitome of mediocre third-person action with a gimmick attached, but at times it was almost fun.

Well the full game is out this week in both the US and Europe and, unless you're a European lego fan with vigilante tendencies, that's pretty much it. Oh, except for basketball. Lots of basketball. Here's the full release list:

US Games
Fracture
NBA 2K9
NBA Live 2009
NBA 09: The Inside

EU Games
Lego Batman
Fracture
NBA 2K9
NBA Live 09

Asian Games
NBA 09: The Inside
NBA Live 09
Guitar Hero III
Guitar Hero Aerosmith

Release dates are constantly subject to change, so be sure to check with your local retailer before making any sudden moves. Your PS3 will play games from any region, so go ahead and import anything you see above.

Do be aware that DLC is locked to specific regions, though, so European games will require DLC from the Euro PSN Store. You may also be interested to know that NBA 09: The Inside is the only NBA game to support trophies.

BioShock on PSN, Full Version Scheduled for October 21, 2008

100°
315w ago - No longer will PS3 gamers have to wait for Bioshock, the game that sent Xbox 360 sales into orbit last year. The Bioshock demo for PlayStation 3 is now available for download on the PlayStation Network, as expected earlier this week.

The full version of the game is scheduled for release in retail stores and online October 21, that's only 17 days away!

Bioshock for PS3 has supposedly been improved from the Xbox 360 version, although according to 2k senior producer Melissa Miller not on the graphics level. Some additions include a new "Survivor" mode where enemies are more difficult to defeat, PS3 Trophy support, and new plasmid powers.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with BioShock, it was designed by Ken Levine of 2K Games and released for XBox 360 and PC in August '07.

The game is set in 1960 and follows plane crash survivor Jack who explores the underwater world of Rapture. There he must face attacks by mutants and mechanical drones.

Have you tried it yet? If so, share your comments below!
