Video: Black Rock Shooter The Game Comes to PSP on Tuesday

66w ago - Today NIS America's Chris King shared a video confirming that Black Rock Shooter The Game comes to PSP on Tuesday.

Below are the details, to quote: My name is Chris King; I recently joined the awesome team here at NISA.

I'm here today to talk about Black Rock Shooter The Game, which hits PSP via PSN next Tuesday for $19.99. Shall we get started? Splendid!

Let me give you a quick rundown of the history of Black Rock Shooter. It all began as a simple illustration by renowned artist Ryohei "Huke" Fuke.

The mysterious yet appealing design of the character inspired the creation of a Black Rock Shooter song (voiced by the ever popular Hatsune Miku), an original video animation, and even an eight-episode anime series. Starting off as a single character design, it has now evolved into an explosive Japanese RPG - not bad!

Alright, let's talk story. The year is 2032 AD, and Earth has been ruthlessly assaulted by alien forces. Nineteen years of nonstop battle now threatens the very existence of humanity. The last hope for human survival is Black Rock Shooter (BRS), a heroine created solely to save planet Earth - she is the ultimate battle android.

But when she is awakened to end the battle once and for all, there are only twelve human beings left...

Video: Putting Content Into the PS Vita GAME Folder at Firmware 2.10

66w ago - Following up on Sony's PS Vita 2.10 and PS Vita 2.11 Firmware updates, today PlayStation Vita hacker The Z shared a way around some of the new limitations and covered putting content into the GAME folder in a video below.

To quote (via wololo): Several people have pointed to me that I shouldn’t talk about “PS Vita hacks” when what I’m really talking about are hacks inside the PSP emulator running on the Vita.

But I’ll have to say in my defense that with each iteration, the PSP emulator on the Vita is going further away from the actual PSP firmware, with its seemingly endless series of security features (that are probably really here to avoid a stupid crash happening on your Vita, but also have the convenient side effect of delaying hacks inside the psp emulator).

Take the recent firmware 2.10 for example. It blocked the possibility to create files or subfolders within the /PSP/GAME folder from within the PSP emulator itself. The Vita system of course can still do it (and needs to do so when you purchase and install a psp...

Video: Ibb and Obb: Development Prototypes on Game's Evolution

69w ago - Sparpweed Creative Director Richard Boeser has shared some video footage today of Ibb and Obb spotlighting the development prototypes documenting the game's evolution below.

To quote: We're almost there. ibb and obb is nearing completion and we hope to release the game on PSN this May.

Getting to this point has been quite an adventure. Currently there are between four and ten people working on the project, but around seven years ago this all started with my graduation project and I could only dream of where it is right now.

I studied Industrial Design and always thought I would become a product designer. But over the course of my studies my interest for product design faded and at the same time it felt like something new was happening in the game industry.

It was around the time that Katamari Damacy made its first appearance on Playstation. I loved it and to me it signalled a start of more original titles finding their way to a larger audience.

I strongly wanted to be part of this change and decided to focus my graduation project on game design.

Part of the project was to design a game concept myself. I was convinced that the best way to design games is to work with prototypes...

We met the new DualShock 4 controller, soaked up some impressive hardware specs and services, and watched a barrage of upcoming PS4 games, from inFAMOUS: Second Son to Bungie's new title Destiny.

During the presentation, Lead System Architect Mark Cerny remarked that the PS4 was made "by game creators, for game creators."

Video: Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt Begins Today

80w ago - Gearbox Software Writer Anthony Burch has announced alongside a video that Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt begins today.

To quote: Hey there, Anthony Burch from Gearbox here! Sir Hammerlock had told me that in the past he wrote his PlayStation fans a letter, so naturally when I mentioned I was writing this blog post he jumped at the opportunity to do it for me. Sucker! He's all book smarts.

Salutations, Vault Hunters!

Sir Hammerlock here, with a cracking proposal for you. Being the oh-so-well-armed badass you are, you've already saved the world, found a pirate's treasure, and spectacularly murdered your way to the top of a badass leaderboard or two. But.

Have you - he asked, pausing for dramatic effect - have you ever fought a Stalker the size of a small building? Have you ever fought a mystical shaman bandit who can level up his companions at will? Have you ever hunted down Scaylions, Boroks, Spores and Savages?

As you have not yet joined me on my excursion to the brutal continent of Aegrus, I shall pre-emptively answer on your behalf: "No, Sir Hammerlock," you say. "I have yet to do any of these things. Pray tell - how could a no-nonsense brigand like myself experience...
