ThatGameCompany's Flow PS4 Game Comes to PlayStation 4 Tuesday

100°
45w ago - Associate Producer Eric Fong of Santa Monica Studio announced that ThatGameCompany's Flow PS4 game is coming to PlayStation 4 this Tuesday.

To quote: Hi all, season's greetings from everyone here at Sony Santa Monica!

For me, the holidays are a time for reverence, a time to give thanks to family/friends/co-workers, a time to look forward to the new possibilities the coming year has to offer and of course a time to enjoy some games.

This year, I had the good fortune to work on two ports of thatgamecompany's games with two amazing developers: Flower on PS4 and PS Vita with Bluepoint Games, and flOw on PS4 and PS Vita with SuperVillain Studios. I'd like to thank all of the fans out there who helped to make Flower the top-selling PS4 (Without Digital Upgrade) game on PlayStation Store.

If you are one of the many people who enjoyed Flower, be sure to check out flOw on PS4 and PS Vita when it comes out on December 17th (that's Tuesday!) - It's $5.99 for the base game and $1.99 for the DLC.

And if you're in the mood for something a little different, something a little dark but chock full of humor, check out Escape Plan - now available on PS4. Escape Plan is a cross-buy title for PS4 and PS Vita available for $14.99.

And just a reminder that these are Cross-Buy...

FarSight: The Pinball Arcade Gets Terminator 2 Table on Tuesday

100°
56w ago - FarSight Studios Lead Designer Bobby King announced today that the Pinball Arcade is getting a Terminator 2 table on Tuesday.

Below are the details, to quote: Hey there, Playstation gamers! It's been an exciting time for us in bringing pinball table recreations to everyone on PS3 and Vita!

Over the month of September, we've released four classic pinball tables in two packs; Champion Pub, Whirlwind, Flight 2000, and Goin' Nuts. Now, thanks to our amazing supporters and a successful Kickstarter campaign back in July, we'll release Terminator 2: Judgment Day on PSN this Tuesday, as well!

PSN users, are you ready for Judgment Day? This table was released by Williams in 1991 and is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables of all time.

It was designed by the legendary Steve Ritchie (who also designed Firepower, Black Knight, High Speed, and Star Trek: The Next Generation). T2 was the first game by Williams to use a dot-matrix display. The table was also the first game to feature a video mode and a swing out cannon that can be fired by the player. It's one of our favorite tables ever!

We hope everyone's been enjoying the releases so far! Also, for those confident in their pinball skills and want to show it, we've begun introducing Tiered Tournaments...

57w ago - The Mark of Kri Executive Producer Jonathan Beard revealed making The Mark of Kri today, which is coming to PSN this Tuesday.

To quote: Editor's Note: Beloved PS2 Classic [Register or Login to view links] will be available on PS3 via PlayStation Store next Tuesday, so we reached out to the game's Executive Producer, Jonathan Beard, to ask for some stories and insights from its development.

He responded in kind, with one of the most detailed write-ups in PlayStation.Blog history, and a bevy of heretofore unseen concept art. Enjoy.

In the early 2000′s, I had taken over the role of studio director at SCEA San Diego, and moved from Foster City with some key members of the Blasto team. Tim Neveu who was the lead artist on [Register or Login to view links] was given the chance to produce his first game.

Tim and I had known each other for a while and shared a lot of the same interests. We often discussed classic games and were alligned on the kind of game we wanted to make - a "fantasy" game - big guy and a sword, maybe an axe.

We were both...

Video: New PS3 Visualizer App from Q-Games is Out Tuesday

50°
63w ago - Q-Games Producer James Mielke shared a video below today spotlighting the new PS3 Visualizer application from Q-Games which arrives this Tuesday.

To quote: Hi everyone! It's been a while but I'm back for a second tour of duty on PlayStation.Blog, although I should point out that I switched Qs in the interim (I was formerly a producer at Q Entertainment, and am now a producer at Q-Games).

The reason for my check-in here today is to announce a brand-new app (you'll find it in the 'Apps' section on PSN) for PlayStation 3 simply titled Visualizer, which, as the name suggests, is a new set of over two dozen music visualizers to use with your PS3's music library.

As you may know, Q-Games is known for its technological contributions to the games industry, in addition to its PixelJunk series of games. Q (initially Dylan Cuthbert and Kentaro Yoshida) crafted the legendary [Register or Login to view links] for the original PlayStation 2 reveal, and later as a company were responsible for a lot of the visual effects, XMB bar, and visualizers built in to the PlayStation 3. Q-Games also handled a lot of the interface programming on PS Vita, so, essentially, we know our way around Sony's hardware.
