189w ago - Today Producer Yoshinori Ono has officially announced a new Super Street Fighter IV release for Sony's PS3 entertainment system!
To quote: I've listened to PlayStation users voice their opinions for the past 10 years. They've said, "We're waiting for the next numbered sequel to Street Fighter!"
I have to apologize that it took Capcom almost a decade to make the decision... but, I really appreciate your continuous support, and I'm now armed with weapons and armor to fight as Capcom's voice in this tough global market.
190w ago - Today Community Senior Manager Seth Killian has announced news of a Super Street Fighter IV event this Friday hosted by Sony in conjunction with Capcom.
To quote: For those who don't know, we call these things "Fight Clubs" and the concept is pretty simple.
We find an underground location (sometimes literally underground, sometimes just an abandoned warehouse, sometimes a sneaker shop, but you get the idea), and drop a bunch of Street Fighter games in there, then let people throw down in arcade-style, face-to-face combat.
We spice it up with some totally exclusive shirt giveaways, exclusive artwork and giftbags, and maybe... just maybe, some extra epic events.
The party is going down this Friday, April 23rd, from 8pm to midnight, in Los Angeles, CA (in the Silver Lake neighborhood).
We'll post the exact address on Thursday, so stay tuned, but here's a little taste...
211w ago - Today a new PS3 character trailer video, fact sheet and screens are available from Capcom for Super Street Fighter IV.
Slated for release on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 video game console in Spring 2010, the follow-up to Street Fighter IV will further redefine the fighting game genre with classic 2D Street Fighter fighting action.
It includes a host of new and returning characters, more advanced online gameplay, enhanced ultra combo system and more.
Press Release: Super Street Fighter IV features the full roster of 25 characters from Street Fighter IV such as Ryu, Ken, Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus, while adding about eight new characters to the world of Street Fighter IV.
The impressive new roster includes classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like T. Hawk, DeeJay, Guy, Cody and Adon as well as all-new characters such as the mysterious and deadly female fighter, Juri. The addition of Juri also brings another first to the Street Fighter franchise as she is the first fighter in series history to utilize the legendary Tae Kwon Do fighting style.
Beyond characters, Super Street Fighter IV adds an enhanced Ultra Combo system...
212w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video today on the PlayStation Blog discussing Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 with Capcom's Seth Killian.
To quote: Recently we were granted an hour to go hands on with the follow-up to Capcom's Street Fighter IV. You may have seen some shots of new character Juri, or the resurrected (and redesigned) DeeJay and T. Hawk. You can see them in action in the video below.
Beyond that, Capcom Senior Community Manager Seth Killian (a SF player so good he can beat you with one hand) walks us through some of the new features and moves we'll be seeing when Super Street Fighter IV drops in 2010.
Better yet, he promises to try and get hands on time for some of you readers (like last year's Street Fighter Club and game launch). Go on, watch.
