Square Enix Confirms Chrono Trigger Hits PSN on October 4, 2011

156w ago - Today Square Eniz Product Manager Charles McCarter has confirmed that Chrono Trigger will be hitting PSN on October 4, 2011 in North America.

To quote: What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words "[Register or Login to view links]?" I'm sure a lot of things, but I bet the first thing on your mind right now is "When can I get it?"

We're happy to confirm that Chrono Trigger is coming to the PSN in North America on October 4th. That's right- in just a few days, you'll be able to visit (or re-visit, as I'm sure is the case for many of you) one of the most hilarious and unique casts of characters ever assembled in an RPG:

Crono: The spiky-haired, stoic protagonist who finds himself wrapped up in events beyond his control. He's pretty good with a katana and doesn't run from a fight.

Marle: The requisite princess, but she's no ordinary princess. How many princesses do you know that wield a crossbow?

Lucca: Chrono's best friend since they were little kids. Oh, and she's a supergenius who invents things such as the teleporter that starts your journey through time.

Frog: A knight from the middle ages, Frog is a man who has been cursed and turned into a giant anthropomorphic...
 

Square Enix Reveals Final Fantasy XIII-2 PS3 and Release Date

158w ago - Following up on their Final Fantasy X HD PS3 and PS Vita announcement from this year's Tokyo Game show, Square Enix have also revealed a [Register or Login to view links] PS3 and release date today.

Similar to the White Final Fantasy 13 PS3 Bundle, the Final Fantasy XIII-2 PlayStation 3 Lightning Edition version 2 console's character design is also done by Tetsuya Nomura.

To quote from Andriasang.com (linked above): "Square Enix announced today a final release date of December 15 for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be priced 7,980.

The PS3 version will also be released as part of a hardware bundle called 'PlayStation 3 Final Fantasy XIII-2 Lightning Edition Ver. 2.' Priced 37,960, this includes a 320 gigabyte hard drive.

Overseas, the game will be released in North America and Asia on January 31. The European release is set for February 3. Square Enix did not say if the special PS3 will be released outside of Japan."

Square Enix Announces Lord Of Arcana is Coming to PSP & PSPgo

221w ago - Square Enix Brand Manager Rob Rutter has officially announced today that Lord Of Arcana is coming to Sony's PSP and PSPgo handheld consoles.

Square Enix Has No Plans for Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox 360

222w ago - During an E3 interview, Square Enix senior vice president of software development Hiromichi Tanaka has said that there are currently "no plans" to bring the game to Xbox 360.

To quote: "Currently there are no plans for a version for the Xbox 360," Tanaka told [Register or Login to view links].

"We are still talking with Microsoft about an Xbox 360 version, but at the moment we are only working on the PS3 version and Windows version."

At last year's E3, Senior Vice President of Square Enix, Shinji Hashimoto, said that "in terms of other hardware devices, including Microsoft's, we're considering all possibilities [for Final Fantasy XIV]."

We'll see if this changes in the future.
