Video: WipEout 2048 Brings Birth of Anti-grav Racing to PS Vita

154w ago - SCEE's James Gallagher has shared a video interview today discussing how the upcoming WipEout 2048 game brings fans the birth of anti-gravity racing to PS Vita.

To quote: The WipEout series is synonymous with PlayStation hardware launches and so there's a warm feeling of familiarity to knowing that WipEout 2048 is coming to PlayStation Vita during the launch window.

The game focuses on the birth of Anti-grav racing and the Liverpool Studio team is keen to focus on how the architecture of the futuristic city shapes both look and gameplay. I caught up with Graeme Ankers and Stuart Tilley out in the sunshine between presentations.

It's fantastic to see a new WipEout game on its way, particularly one that is looking to take the series in a new direction. We already know that it will support cross platform play allowing Vita and PS3 players to go head-to-head online and I've just learned that the soundtrack - a vital ingredient in the WipEout DNA - features new remixes of Underworld and Leftfield tracks from the original game, as well as a new track from Deadmau5. Can't wait!

Video: Monochrome Racing Arrives to PlayStation Minis Tomorrow

50°
156w ago - Today Alexander Bravve at Nordcurrent has shared a video trailer and confirmed that Monochrome Racing will be speeding into PlayStation Minis tomorrow.

To quote: I'd like to talk about Monochrome Racing - a minis game that we are releasing on the 3rd of August.

Monochrome Racing is a unique racing game that takes place in a black and white world. And since the world is black and white, colour becomes the scarce resource that players compete for.

You start the race with your car completely charged; it is bright and full of colour. As you drive, the colour gradually vanishes away and in order to recharge the car, you need to drive over the coloured checkpoints. If you car turns monochrome it is knocked out. The goal of each level is to finish first and earn as much money as you can.

There are several types of power-ups randomly spread across the level. Once taken, they can increase your car's characteristics (speed for example), or can damage your opponents with bombs that leave a huge wave behind them. There is a garage where you can spend your money.

To get a better idea of what is going on in Monochrome Racing, please have a look at the game video:

Sony Announces Remote Racing Hits Gran Turismo 5 for PS3

200°
180w ago - Today Sony's European Brand Manager Penrose Tackie has announced Remote Racing is hitting Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: I am delighted to confirm that a new functionality update has been made to Gran Turismo 5, which in addition to a number of other enhancements, means that Gran Turismo is now playable from a web browser!

The main features of the update are as below:

1. Remote racing between friends to level up drivers

You can now set the AI drivers you created for B Spec in Gran Turismo 5 to be shared online, and you can host fully automated B Spec races (Remote races) that will grant rewards and experience.

You can either watch the live broadcast of the remote race, or save it to watch later. In B Spec mode the player is the director of a racing team, working to level up your very own AI Drivers.

The races are driven by AI Drivers against each other, and the player does not have to drive the car themselves.

This is a unique racing strategy simulation mode of Gran Turismo that allows you to enjoy races as you would in a live race broadcast on TV.

2. Supporting Remote Racing from the web browser

In "Remote Races" you can log in to the official "[Register or Login to view links]"...

200°
193w ago - Today Senior Vice President Peter Dille of Marketing & PlayStation Network has shared a new GT5 PS3 promo video with Kevin Butler entitled It Only Does Revolutionary Racing Experiences.

To quote: In just six short days, the franchise that revolutionized the racing category as we know it will be making its exclusive debut on PlayStation 3. [Register or Login to view links] will be racing onto store shelves this coming Wednesday, November 24.

This highly anticipated installment will no doubt raise the bar on the franchise's unparalleled graphics, presentation and gameplay - bringing you an experience so life-like you'll find it hard to distinguish from a live race.

While we think features such as the all-new Course Maker, an expansive online racing community built right in, stereoscopic 3D compatibility and more than 1,000 cars from the world's top manufacturers, including karts and select [Register or Login to view links] cars, speak for themselves, we still couldn't resist giving one of our most anticipated and loved franchises the "Kevin Butler" treatment.

In this latest ad, we find [Register or Login to view links] taking a call from a devoted Gran Turismo fan anxiously waiting for...
