130w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has made available an E3 2011 video today featuring Scott Rohde answering some common PS Vita questions from fans.
To quote: The most talked-about PlayStation product out of E3 was, and continues to be, PS Vita. Yes, the hardware is impressive - especially at the starting price of $249 dollars.
But - as is always the case - it's all about the games. Fortunately, Vita looks set to launch with a plethora of big names and innovative indie games.
Who's responsible for ensuring an awesome PS Vita launch lineup? People like Scott Rohde, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Studios Product Development at SCEA.
In our E3 interview, Scott Rohde talks about the making of Vita and the flexibility of the platform. It's safe to say that fans of traditional button-and-analog-stick controls will be satisfied, all while incorporating innovative new interfaces like the back touch panel.
I've got to say, I love working for a company where a senior vice president doesn't wear a suit. Like, ever.
133w ago - Today LightBox Interactive President Dylan Jobe has answered some Starhawk PS3 questions alongside some fresh video footage below.
To quote: We all know a good reveal is just the first step in making our fans happy and we're looking forward to showing you guys even more tasty Starhawk content and get you more plugged into the Starhawk universe!
So the other day I asked all of you on Twitter to send me Starhawk questions that you wanted to get answered, and while we're still planning on doing a full FAQ post here on the PlayStation.Blog, I wanted to take a few of the questions that were popular and answer them straight away. Here goes:
Does Starhawk have two flight modes?
YES. Initially we wanted to have Starhawk use only a single flight mode so that all players were unified. We worked a lot on this but ultimately decided that the needs of a newbie player and the needs of a hardcore Warhawk fan were just too far apart and we weren't willing to make the compromises needed to jam everyone into a single flight mode.
So... Starhawk has two flight modes and both are great! The default mode is very simple and great for new to mid-level players (and yes, reverse aiming issues have been fixed). It's a re-vamped version of our "arcade mode" (but...
134w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has posted up a PSN FAQ today to cover some common questions now that PlayStation Network is restored.
To quote: Now that PlayStation Network is once again operational, a great many of you are once again enjoying playing games online.
Of course, that's only part of the Network's offerings - and you've got some questions about how the downtime affected planned releases and online events. Here are answers to some of the more pressing queries:
Q: So what exactly is working right now? A: Sign-in for PlayStation Network and Qriocity (including the resetting of passwords), online gameplay for PS3 and PSP, playback of rental video content on PS3 (if within rental period), Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on PS3 (for current subscribers), access to services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and MLB.tv, "Friends" category on PS3 (including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc), in-game leaderboards, and PlayStation Home.
Q: I'm having trouble changing my password/I forgot which email I used on my account/I used a fake email to set up my account. A: Click here for a set of tips on resetting your password. If you've gone through the process and are waiting for an email from us, please...
139w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an interview with Valve Software today, who answered nearly every Portal 2 PS3 question on the minds of fans!
To quote: Valve Software has repeatedly described Portal 2 for the PS3 as being "the best console version of the game."
And for good reason, given that you'll get a free PC or Mac version of Portal 2 along with your PS3 copy, as well as exclusive cross-platform PS3-to-PC co-op gameplay and voice chat, Steamworks features and much more. Good stuff!
Not long ago, we asked you to submit your very best PS3 Portal 2 questions. We wanted every nerdy, detail-obsessed question possible and, as we've come to learn, PS3 fans never disappoint.
Last week, we finally cornered Portal 2's Project Lead Joshua Weier and Writer Erik Wolpaw in a bare concrete room under harsh florescent lighting.
We slapped a thick stack of your questions on the table, cracked our knuckles, and extracted the answers via a combination of brow beating, idle threats, and good old-fashioned seduction.
Actually, we just called them on the phone and goofed off for an hour or so. It went something like this:
