1w ago - Following up on Sony's Ultimate PS4 FAQ which states PS4 does not feature backward compatibility, today we have some pictures and a video of what exactly happens when inserting a PS3 game disc in the PlayStation 4 console.
To quote: With the arrival of the next generation of gaming hardware in the PS4 and XBox One, it's also clear that plenty of people will be holding onto their older consoles, and just as obvious that developers will continue to make games for these legacy systems for a long while yet.
But what if you're looking to blend the past and future by jamming a game from the last gen into one of your new consoles? We've got the answers.
As a test, we took a PS3 game - Mirror's Edge, obviously. Here it is. And oh so delicately, so as not to frighten anyway, inserted it into our shiny new PS4.
The menu pop-up was less than reassuring. And the result even less so.
This doesn't come as any surprise, backwards compatibility was never supposed to be a part of the PS4 ecosystem and at least in this case the console identifies the fact that it's a PS3 disc, unlike the XBox One which...
To quote: Hello guys, i am new here but i want to share a tool I made for Dualshock 4 controllers. I was inspired by the tool made by Scarlet.Crush for DS3.
My tool works in similar fashion and is based on source code from DS3 Scp Tool.
It works though without messing with the original drivers for DS4. Uses DirectInput to XInput mapping. You still need to install drivers for SCP virtual bus device and possible X360 Controller drivers.
Currently all buttons/Axis work like they should. No support for rumble and controlling light to indicate controller number.
Shortly I will make a video demonstrating the tool.

2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new Sony PlayStation Releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:
It's almost time to give thanks and pile loads of food onto your plate - copious amounts that you couldn't possibly eat in one sitting.
And as you sprawl out in a half-awake state, what better way to digest food than with some new video games? How about a long-running Japanese RPG with a huge world to explore? Sounds pretty tasty.
That's right, this week sees the launch of Ys: Memories of Celceta. This JRPG joins the PS Vita family with an action-heavy battle system and an overworld that's bigger than all the other maps in the series... combined.
Players will take control of series hero Adol Christin, and work to piece together his broken memories as he explores the dangers and intrigue of the Great Forest. Ys: Memories of Celceta also boasts an elaborate crafting system for those gamers out there that love to tweak gear and find the perfect tools for battle.
The PlayStation family also (re)welcomes two PSone Classics: Metal Gear Solid VR Missions and Oddworld: Abe Boxx, as well as the PS3 version of Super Motherload.
For a full list of games coming to PlayStation this week, check below. And, as ever, enjoy the Drop!

2w ago - Spearhead Games Co-founder Simon Darveau shared a video today announcing that Tiny Brains is launching on December 3rd for PlayStation 4.
To quote: Hi! It's Simon from Spearhead Games, here again to talk about our upcoming PS4 co-op puzzler Tiny Brains. We finished our very last updates earlier this week, and we're finally done - it feels so weird to write that after Tiny Brains consumed my entire life for more than a year, but it's true.
The whole team is incredibly proud to be bringing Tiny Brains to PS4 on December 3rd. Thanks to PlayStation's support of indies, we were given the option to be featured on PlayStation Plus for the launch - it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up!
So look out for Tiny Brains soon, and in the meantime, I wanted to share our brand new launch trailer, and tell you a bit about how we're trying to get you back in the living room for some old school co-op with a next-gen twist.
When I was a kid, one of the best feelings in the world was getting a new game and rushing home to call my friends to come over and play. Crowded together in front of the screen, all excited to game late into the night; elbowing for room on the couch, gloating and swapping tips - these things are what gave me a lifelong love of video games.
