Blizzard Details Diablo III on PS4, New Ultimate Evil Edition Update

50°
15w ago - Production Director John Hight at Blizzard Entertainment shared an update today on the new Ultimate Evil Edition for Diablo III on PS4.

To quote: Greetings, nephalem! John Hight here to bring you an update as my team and I prepare to unleash a whole lot of evil on consoles everywhere.

I'm pleased to say that on August 19, just two short weeks from now, you'll be able to lay waste to Malthael and bring peace to the streets of Westmarch from the comfort of your La-Z-Boy with the release of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition.

The Ultimate Evil Edition is filled with all the features, fast-paced action, and legendary loot included in the Reaper of Souls expansion set, as well as all of the content of the original Diablo III.

With a new chapter to play through and the new Crusader class to master, plus the freedom to explore endlessly with Adventure Mode, your path to new heights of power will be literally in your DualShock-wielding hands.

I want to remind everyone to get your preorders in if you haven't already. Doing so will land you a devilishly sweet pair of Infernal Pauldrons, which provide some powerful bonuses for your characters, and they look pretty cool too-a plus considering you can also use them for transmogs (a new feature available...

Sony Goes Hands-on with Destiny PlayStation 4 Beta, Details

50°
18w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on today with the Destiny PlayStation 4 Beta with details below.

To quote: Today, PS4 and PS3 owners will get a chance to experience Bungie's galaxy-spanning epic [Register or Login to view links] for the first time.

Assuming the role of a newly revived Human, Awoken, or Exo, players will explore the ruins of a Russian Cosmodrome and battle hordes of formidable Fallen and feral Hive, all while earning new skills and collecting increasingly effective weapons and armor.

I had an early opportunity to play the Beta, and I've collected my initial notes below. While this post is by no means comprehensive, I hope it'll help get you up to speed before you hop in yourself. And if you're in the Beta, please share your tips, observations, and feedback in the comments below.

If you played or read about Destiny's Alpha last month, you might be wondering what's changed for the Beta. The answer: plenty! Perhaps most notably, the Beta fills in many narrative gaps with pre-rendered and in-engine cinematics, fleshing out more of the backstory and making this feel much more like a world I want to explore.

These scenes are fully voice-acted;...

Video: New Trailer and Details for Everybody's Gone to the Rapture

100°
23w ago - Composer and Co-Director Jessica Curry posted up a new PS4 trailer video and details for Everybody's Gone to the Rapture from E3 2014 today!

To quote: For the last twelve months, we've had our heads down working hard on Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and it's really exciting to be able to share some more information with you as well as a new trailer:

If you already know The Chinese Room, you'll know that we make story-driven games. Creating a rich, deep world with strong drama and exceptional production values is key to what we're all about.

Rapture is set in a remote valley in June 1984 and is a story about people and how they live with each other. But it's also about the end of the world.

Rapture is inspired by the fiction of John Wyndham, J. G. Ballard, John Christopher and other authors who deal with ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. There's a very particular English feel that we wanted to capture in the game, a combination of the epic and the intimate.

Rapture also came from our obsession with post-apocalyptic gaming, and the simple idea that whilst we normally play as the hero, in reality, most of us would be the piles of ash and bone littering the game world. That's...

24w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa shared a PlayStation 4 video today announcing that Bloodborne is coming exclusively to PS4 in 2015 with new details and 1080p scrreenshots below.

To quote: Hello, PlayStation fans. This is Masaaki Yamagiwa from Japan Studio.

I am here to talk about a new Action RPG, Bloodborne, which will launch early 2015 exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. Bloodborne is a new collaboration for us, being developed by FromSoftware and produced by SCE Japan Studio.

This game will transport players to a dark and terror-filled gothic world, a world full of deranged beings and nightmarish creatures.

Bloodborne takes place in an ancient, forgotten city called Yharnam, known for an old medical remedy. Over the years, many hopeless and afflicted people have made long pilgrimages to Yharnam in search of help.

As the main character, you are one of these travelers. However, you find that Yharnam is also cursed with a horrible endemic illness. You must navigate the perilous streets of this city,...
