Forest Legends: The Call of Love on PS3 Coming to PlayStation 3

50°
21w ago - Alawar Entertainment Product Manager Polina Belavskaya announced that Forest Legends: The Call of Love on PS3 is coming to the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: Forest Legends: The Call of Love is a game for people who believe in magic.

Once upon a time, the Earth was inhabited by not only people but also Felizes - creatures that could transform into cat-like beings. Without warning, dark times fell upon the world, and war engulfed both races.

The humans forced the Felizes to leave the land they had called home for thousands of years and hide in the forests. Humans then outlawed magic and spared no opportunity to attack the werecats.

War, however, means nothing to a pair of young lovebirds. Forest Legends: The Call of Love tells a magical story of a forbidden romantic love - and of a betrayal as corrupt as the love is pure.

The player takes the role of Eveline, the only child of the chief hunter of a human town. She loves Aurelio, a werecat. As the game begins, Eveline and Aurelio meet in a dark forest, where Aurelio is wounded and then kidnapped.

Eveline must follow the trail of the kidnappers, free her beloved, and restore peace between the races. Her companion is a charming baby dragon that helps her to solve puzzles and figure out...

XBlaze Code: Embryo - Visual Novel Set in BlazBlue Universe for PS3

50°
22w ago - Aksys Games Editor Mike Engler revealed today that XBlaze Code: Embryo is a visual novel set in the BlazBlue Universe that is coming to PS3.

To quote: Hello... again... and again... Aksys Games, purveyors of quality digital entertainment, is pleased to announce that we will be releasing Arc System Works' latest tour de force, XBlaze Code: Embryo!

Taking place almost two centuries before the events of BlazBlue, XBlaze tells the story of Touya Kagari, a mostly unremarkable high school sophomore with a remarkable past, and his transformation from a typical teenager into the target of secret organizations, renegade mages, homicidal maniacs, and curry-obsessed co-workers.

And though XBlaze touches on the origins of some of the more important elements of the BlazBlue mythos (The Azure, Black Beast, and Takamagahara spring immediately to mind), its story stands on its own as an epic tale of disparate groups all fighting for control of the power responsible for the creation of the universe.

As for the game itself, XBlaze is a visual novel with a number of twists on the formula. One of the biggest differences is that, unlike most games in the genre that simple use static character images during conversation scenes, story scenes in XBlaze are more akin to an animated feature, complete...

Dark Souls II for PlayStation 3: Hands-on: Die Harder on PS3

50°
23w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman shared a hands-on PS3 preview for Dark Souls II on PlayStation 3 dubbed Die Harder below.

To quote: Fear not! Based on my initial hands-on experiences, Dark Souls II is proving to be even more fiendishly challenging than its famously difficult predecessor.

I learned this when the very first enemy in the game, a monstrous ogre-like creature sporting a pendulous gut, lifted me into the air and gnawed on my head like a Tootsie pop. I died kicking and screaming.

After reviving, I opted to steer clear of the brute until I'd found a better weapon. But misfortune struck moments later when I was overwhelmed by a swarm of tiny, mewling dog creatures. Pushing on, I faced a gauntlet of towering undead knights, each powerful enough to cleave me in two with a swing of a massive sword.

After dying repeatedly, I finally zig-zagged past them and through a nearby door. Big mistake: here, perched precariously on a narrow platform, I faced off with an armored, giant boss who swung a halberd with lethal accuracy. Yep, you better believe I died.

Though Dark Souls II wastes no time in throwing the player into the deep end of the pool, its core gameplay has also undergone many subtle tweaks that further contribute to its bruising difficulty level....

23w ago - DC Universe Online Executive Producer Larry Liberty shared details today on new characters, operations and more below.

To quote: The War of the Light has begun! The first of a three-part series of DLC Packs, War of the Light Part I will incorporate several of the fantastic additions to the Green Lantern canon of the past few years.

We'll be adding even more Green Lantern depth to DC Universe Online over the course of the trilogy. Part I will feature new four-player and eight-player Operations, new Legends characters, and a new Red Lantern-inspired power - Rage.

New Operations

Launching with War of the Light Part I is a new version of Metropolis, separate from the version in the core game. Set just after the events of Braniac's Battle for Earth, it will be the canvas on which the entire War of the Light Trilogy of DLCs will be drawn.

In part one, mysterious colored mists have appeared in the city. The mists are beginning to alter the behavior of the citizens of Metropolis, causing them to exhibit emotions linked to those colors: topaz elicits fear, crimson mist - rage, azure - hope, emerald - determination, and purple - love.

The various Lantern Corps have come to Earth to determine what connection these mists have with the Emotional...
