108w ago - Following up on the previous release and PS3 Port Build 20110622, this weekend PlayStation 3 developer bgK has updated ScummVM, an implementation of LucasArts SCUMM interpreter emulator, to ScummVM version 1.4.0 in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
To quote: It has been over 10 years. We are here thanks to the work of 131 developers. 49,124 commits were made just to the ScummVM tree and those turned into a massive 1,085,714 lines of code (excluding comments) and of course over 7.6 million downloads from the main site alone. I would say those were a great ten years.
The outcome is ScummVM 1.4.0 which we are releasing today, 11/11/11 11:11:11.11.
More games are supported: Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos (based on the same engine as Kyrandia), the kids' game Blue's...
114w ago - Today pete_uk has made available a Cannon Fodder (CD version) PS3 homebrew game port for the DOSBox emulator via DOSMount on the PlayStation 3 which includes custom XMB music along with The Lemmings Collection, Cool Spot, Cannon Fodder 2 and SuperFrog Custom DOSBox PKGs below.
115w ago - As a follow-up to their previous update, this weekend EmulateMii has confirmed that the PS364 Nintendo 64 Emulator for PS3 is still under development and has a near-complete hardware renderer.
To quote: Long overdue progress update and... a 1up on bigN!
We must start by saying that yes, it sure has been a while since our last update. Followers can rest assured though that we have been actively developing all of our projects in one way or another. As mentioned before, all three of us have very little time to work on this stuff due to real life commitments, but combined we seem to be getting things done at what we think is a decent pace.
WiiSX has seen some tinkering to try and get compatibility up, but has run into other issues. We have been keeping in sync with pcsx-reloaded whilst trying to maintain the PPC dynarec for it. Eventually we need to add more recompiled functions to the dynarec in WiiSX, particularly GTE. We initially wanted to do a full PPC dynarec re-write, but that doesn't seem feasible time-wise at the moment. Future plans for WiiSX also include porting a hardware renderer now that Pete's OpenGL plugin is open-sourced.
