Video: VHBL PS Vita 1.80 Running Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

99w ago - Following up on the UVLoader Usermode PS Vita Loader development news, this weekend wololo has officially unveiled a video of VHBL for PS Vita 1.80 running on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite below!

To quote from his blog: I forgot to upload the “proof of concept” video this morning when I announced Neur0n’s exploit for Monster Hunter, so there you go.

In this video, we are running the exploit (which is done by going to the “Download” section of the game), I then go to the “savegame” section of the memory stick in order to install some homebrews: Wagic and CSPSP.

Wagic seems particularly long to install, but this is because its resource file is a single 40MB file which takes a little while to extract an copy. You can then see me play both Wagic and CSPSP on the PS Vita through the exploit.

PS Vita Dev Wololo Unveils VHBL Success with New PSP Game Exploit

To quote from his blog: Sometimes, it’s just that simple...

Neur0n has been kind enough to share with me the details of his latest user mode exploit, so that I could help porting VHBL to his game on the EU and US versions (yes, the game seems to be available on all stores, and don’t stop reading here, it gets better).

Sometimes porting VHBL to a new game can be a pain in the rear. Many times, as I discovered the hard way, we hit a wall and have to give up after dozens of hours of investigation.

On this exploit too, had I been alone working on it, I would have given up. It seemed impossible to free most of the ram (VHBL basically needs to cleanly remove the game from the ram, in order to load homebrews instead), and the exploit ended up with about 2MB of free ram, instead of the 24MB that we usually expect.

But hey, that’s where comes the joy of working with talented people like Neur0n: he figured out, within 24hours, how to free the additional 22MB. I am not sure really how he found out, and why it works, but it damn works.

So I can proudly...
 

Video: PSP SaveGame Exploit By Zer01ne on PS Vita Demo

123w ago - Following up on the previous PSP SaveGame exploit news, this weekend PlayStation Vita developer Zer01ne has Tweeted news of a new PSP game exploit that works on Firmware 6.60 and has also been confirmed working with Sony's new PS Vita handheld console as well!

Video: New PSP Exploit Surfaces, PS Vita VHBL Port Incoming?

125w ago - Following up on his PS Vita VHBL Motorstorm Arctic Edge hack from last week, today PlayStation Vita developer wololo has announced news of a new PSP exploit discovered by Xerpi with a demo video below!

To quote: I honestly stopped counting how many PSP "hello world" exploits in PSP games have been announced over the past months, but these exploits are getting a second life now that they symbolize a possibility for homebrews on the PS Vita.

This time it's scener Xerpi who found an exploit, which I haven't confirmed yet, but I should be able to give it a try sometimes this week. Will this lead to a VHBL port/release? First we need to make sure this game is actually available for the Vita. After that, only time will tell, but I'll do my best to help

Note: Let me emphasize that I am aware of several psp game exploits being available, and releasing VHBL for them or not is basically up to their authors. I'm of course offering my help to port VHBL (although my free time is limited.

Video: PS Vita Save Game Exploit Confirmed, HBL is Coming Soon

136w ago - Following up on the rumor from last week that a PlayStation Vita Hello World was achieved through a PSP Save Game exploit, today established PSP hacker wololo has confirmed it and stated that a Half-Byte Loader (HBL) is incoming!

To quote: Last week, an exploit on the PS Vita through the PSP emulator was announced by Mamosuke. The exploit was found by Teck4, and, we won't stress it enough, is a PSP exploit that gives us user mode access within the PSP emulator on the Vita. So this is not a Vita exploit per se, but it's still very cool.

Mamosuke confirmed this with a video a few days ago, and today I was able to confirm the exploit myself as shown in the video below (and I must admit that I spent way too much time working on that basic flame effect). The video below shows the exploit running on both a PSP 1000 and the PS Vita.





Here's also a screenshot since there is not autofocus on my stupid camera.

I spent a good amount of time today confirming some of my hopes that it will be possible to run HBL, at least to some extent, with that exploit. It doesn't mean I have...
