20w ago - Developer Brian Provinciano announced today that their Retro City Rampage update adds Retro+ Mode and a Prototype Version with details below.
To quote: A new Retro City Rampage update has just dropped, which takes things both forward and backward! To celebrate the update, Retro City Rampage is on sale for $4.99.
Not only that, but it's Cross Buy, so this means you're getting both the PS3 and PS Vita versions together for only $2.50 each!
RETRO+ Enhanced Graphics Mode
The "RETRO+" Enhanced Graphics Mode gives RCR a neo-retro boost with dynamic shadows, doubling the colors on screen. The shadows and increased contrast help sprites pop like never before. For purists, the original 8-bit mode is still there in all its glory, but if you're ready for a slight retro remix, RETRO+ is a great new way to enjoy the game.
"ROM" City Rampage, an 8-bit hardware-accurate prototype has also been added. Drive around Theftropolis with the strict limitations of 1980s hardware, sprite flicker and all.
Compare side by side how closely Retro City Rampage adheres to classic hardware and where it strays, and see what really was possible in 1989. See what actually could've been released on cartridge, had...
23w ago - Curve Studios PR and Marketing Manager Rob Clarke revealed today that award-winning adventure Proteus is coming to both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.
To quote: The team here at Curve takes great pleasure in announcing that Ed Key and David Kanaga's award winning PC indie game, Proteus, will be arriving on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita this autumn.
A lot of games get called 'unique', but we think there's honestly nothing quite like Proteus. It's a game all about exploration, mystery, color and sound. Played in first person and set on an uninhabited island, it's all about getting immersed in a dreamlike world.
Everything in Proteus is procedurally generated, which means the game is different each time you play. The game plays through all four seasons before the end, and it's nearly impossible to see everything in the game with one play through.
The music and sounds in the game are what really make it special though, and everything you encounter as you explore has its own musical signature, so just like the island, the music changes depending on where you choose to go.
Here at Curve we've been working with Ed to make the PS Vita and PS3 versions even better than the original, and over the next few months we're going to have more information on how we're using the...

26w ago - Mando Productions Marketing Director Michel Bams announced today that Cardboard Castle is making the cut on PlayStation Mobile.
To quote: Hi there PlayStation Community. This week, we're launching Cardboard Castle on PlayStation Mobile. This is our first game on the platform, and we wanted to give the community something that was fun, entertaining and creative.
The premise of the game is to use real-world items like scissors, water and fire to help the hero of the story on his adventure through a land of cardboard.
As we were designing the game and discussing the idea of having "real" elements in the game, someone on our team suggested cardboard with the idea that it could be cut, get wet or burned. So the idea of a puzzle/adventure fantasy world based on cardboard was born.
We wanted to create a story that was totally based on cardboard and paper only. In the beginning the design of the game was really bland, so we added a cartoony feel to it in order to get that balance of real world and cartoon that we were looking for. We also wanted people to feel like they were progressing in the game by using real world items such as scissors and a glass of water.
As you play through the game, you will see where we added fun and humor. The main hero sometimes...
26w ago - Zombie Studios Communications Manager Collin Moore is here with a peek at Daylight for PS4: procedurally generated psychological horror on PlayStation 4!
To quote: E3 is upon us, and Zombie Studios is ready to scare the PlayStation community when Daylight comes to PlayStation 4 early 2014.
A couple months ago, we flew out to PAX East with a pre-alpha build of our latest game Daylight. When you show your game off for the first time, you really aren't sure what people will think! The entire weekend we would watch curious gamers walk up to Daylight. After a brief tutorial we'd just sit back and watch - anxiously waiting to see what would happen.
Over and over we saw people jump, scream, yell, and one person even ripped off their headphones, took a couple steps back, and looked right at us as if they saw a ghost. Right then and there we knew we had something special. Now we are excited to share that with our fans on PS4!
For those that might not have heard of Daylight, it's a procedurally generated psychological horror game. This means each time you start the game, the entire world will be different; from the layout of the level, the location of items you find, and, most importantly, the encounters you stumble into.
