To quote: Deci3dbg - Ida Pro debugger module for PlayStation 3

Whoever used to debug on PlayStation 3 knows that there is only one debugger available - SN Systems ProDG. It has some nice features (that I even miss in others debuggers) but overall... its not that good.

There also was a gdb client but it was pulled around 1.xx sdk (specification changed, there is no more step cmd, etc). So after some time that I spent with ProDG I realized that it just dont works for me and decided to get host debugger to communicate with Ida. It would have allowed me to use all those nice features like scripts, plugins, tracing, leaving comments in place, interface and hotkeys to which I am used to over the years.

Okay, I hear that someone of you is asking why I did Ida module and not some kind of gdb proxy instead, and...

Video: Promote Real Music in BigFest on PlayStation Vita

18w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino invites PlayStation Vita fans to promote real music in BigFest on PS Vita in a video trailer below.

To quote: Revealed at Gamescom 2013 for PS Vita, BigFest is about building your own festival that will promote real, unsigned bands. Players will go on a journey with the bands with the goal of building their own thriving festival and becoming the most successful promoter in the world.

Do you have what it takes to discover the next big thing, and take them to the top of the charts?

Before you take a band to the top, you'll need to give them a platform, and that means building the best festival you can. Starting with a small stage in a field, it's up to the player to build their festival their way.

Choose the basics from shops and stalls to earn money and use that money to enhance your festival by installing the right speakers, lights and video screens, increasing the "vibe" as you go.

The levels themselves are run as Festival "Posters," with headliners and support acts. Some Posters will let you play whatever music you want while others will have specific needs to succeed. Visitors to a rock festival will have different needs to those at a dance...

Slightly Mad Studios Offers a First Look at Project CARS on PS4

100°
20w ago - Today Creative Director Andy Tudor at Slightly Mad Studios offers a first look at their project CARS on PS4 with details below.

To quote: If you haven't heard about it already, Project CARS is a bit different. Different in the philosophy of freedom that runs throughout the entire game, and different in how it's being created - by YOU, the gamers!

Project CARS was conceived back in October 2011 (Wow, time flies!) as a natural continuation of our work on two of racing's biggest franchises - Need For Speed and Test Drive - and as a return to our roots when we created GTR and GT Legends.

Back when we were conceiving the idea, we knew we wanted to create a racing game that covered a wide range of different car types and motorsports, and gave you the freedom to play and experiment with them however you wanted.

We wanted the core driving experience to be the most authentic on the planet, and we wanted to provide you with all the features you need to recreate a race weekend as it happens in real life - complete with a dynamic time of day and a weather system that not only looks beautiful but challenges your skills and provides strategic opportunities.

And we wanted to connect players together with a variety of online and community features - time trials, events,...

Video: PS4 Music Player App Revealed by Shuhei Yoshida's PSN Profile

100°
21w ago - Following the rumors that MP3 playback is coming soon to the PlayStation 4, today what may be a Sony PS4 Music Player application was revealed by Shuhei Yoshida's PSN Profile!

To quote: There have been rumors of MP3 playback support coming to the PS4 with a future update, and something found by one of our readers that snooped on Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida's PSN profile definitely seems to add solidity to those rumors:

Apparently Yoshida-san ran a "Music Player Demo" app yesterday, and it left very visible tracks on his PSN profile, as you can see in the pictures at the bottom of the post:

Of course we don't have clear information on what the "Music Player" entails, or if it'll really play MP3 files, but now we know that it exists, and it's being tested internally at Sony Computer Entertainment.

It's worth mentioning that normally this kind of unannounced app is kept hidden from profiles, but apparently someone forgot to flip that switch.

We'll have to stand by and see if the app will be announced any time soon, or if it'll make it in the upcoming 1.7 firmware update.
