327w ago - Ubisoft has confirmed that its new Prince of Persia adventure will be released on December 2nd, 2008.

The absurdly agile protagonist and his lithe lady friend, Elika, will be putting Ahriman (you know, typically disgruntled god thing) in his place on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Press Release: SAN FRANCISCO, CA - September 18 2008 - Today Ubisoft announced that Prince of Persia will ship December 2, 2008 for the Xbox 360(TM) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and PC. Prince of Persia opens an entirely new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe in addition to introducing a fresh Illustrative art style, evolved combat system, open world structure and dynamic AI - most notably in the form of the Prince's powerful ally Elika.

About Prince of Persia

Prince Of Persia - The Film: First Pictures

50°
330w ago - Prince of Persia, the film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer returns once more with six new photographs.

Thanks to a member of the Korben site (linked above), who was on holiday in Morocco, that these photographs were made available.

It was written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of the play. The action will proceed at the time of Persia medieval. A king and his son the Prince, having made undergo a cuisante demolished with a Maharajah, kidnaps his daughter.

Plundering and ransacking throughout their passage, they discover a strange sand glass, as well as a special dagger. What our famous Prince does not know, it is that these two objects are actually powerful artifacts able to make one immortal and also allowing the holder to control time. In summary, the Prince will have to save his people before they all become demons.

Side casting, in the role of the Prince de Perse, is Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Zodiac) which will give life to one of the most famous heroes of gaming culture history.

The film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, initially was planned for 2009 but has been pushed back, and as a result should hit big screens in 2010.

Prince of Persia devs planned something special for PS3 owners

250°
340w ago - You may or may not be aware that there's a vote taking place on the official Prince of Persia Web site. This poll allows people to pick one of three Xbox 360 achievements for the final game.

Not much use to PS3 owners, but Ubisoft has done its best to keep us sweet. The poll itself states that PS3 fans need not take umbrage and that they have "planned something special" for us too.

Whether this will have anything to do with the upcoming trophies for the game, or something else entirely, there's no real indication.

Needless to say, however, we're looking forward to seeing whatever it is Ubisoft comes up with. What can we say, we love surprises!

Chris Easton: Prince of Persia Co-Op now a Possibility

50°
341w ago - Speaking to videogaming247, Chris Easton - Prince of Persia's community development manager - has said that co-operative play in the upcoming action reboot may be explored.

An earlier statement, given by producer Ben Mattes at the recent Ubidays event, said that there would no co-op in the game at all.

"There are no plans for co-op as of now, but we may explore the possibility," Easton told us.

Co-op seemed as natural feature of the game, given that play centres on the Prince and constant sidekick Elika, and it would seem that hope is not yet lost, despite Mattes' comments.

New Prince of Persia is officially nameless per Ubisoft

50°
344w ago - Ubisoft has debunked rumors that the new Prince of Persia game will be called Heir Apparent, stating that no name has officially been announced.

As we reported last week, a sneak preview of the latest Game Informer magazine had previously alluded to the new title. But a moderator has since posted on Ubisoft's official forums stating that 'Heir Apparent' is the name of the article and has nothing to do with the game itself.

Despite this, the new Prince of Persia game is still on track for a release sometime this winter. Based on this preview of the art direction, we can't wait.
