21w ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo shared a Runner2 PSN video today dubbed Who Says You Can't Buy Friends with details below, as follows:
After the launch of Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, many of our fans asked us if we had any sort of plans for DLC. As you can imagine, we were thrilled to see that people wanted the game's experience to extend beyond when the final credits rolled. Quite honestly, it's one of the best compliments a developer can receive.
While brainstorming possible ideas for extra content, we came up with the idea of releasing a pack of characters plucked from other video games. It was a neat enough concept, but the success of it depended upon the awesomeness of the characters we ended up including in the bundle.
This required a lot of brainstorming on our end – including some crazy ideas we had that didn't quite work out – but in the end we feel as though we assembled the most amazing crew of characters to ever grace a single video game. We might be biased in our saying so, however.
In any case, the DLC in question is known as the Good Friends Character Pack, and it introduces Raz (Psychonauts), Quote (Cave Story), Josef (Machinarium), Dr. Fetus (Super Meat Boy), Spelunky Guy (Spelunky), and Invisible CommanderVideo...
22w ago - Sony's Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store Team announced today that their PS2 Sale starts today on PlayStation Network.
To quote: Hi everyone! Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone that has shared a favourite memory from the PSone era over the last two weeks. It's great to hear after all this time that there is still such a passion for such a groundbreaking piece of hardware!
Onwards and upward though! Next, PlayStation 2. Released way back in late 2000, PlayStation 2 was the home of some of the best games ever, with all-time greats such as, Kingdom Hearts, God of War, ICO, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, Tekken 5, Grand Theft Auto III and many, many more.
With over 150 million units sold (and counting), PS2 is to this day still regarded as one of the finest gaming machines ever created.
PlayStation 2 was the first home console I could claim as my own. My parents were quite anti-gaming and were convinced it'd melt my brain, so I'd only really play games when I snuck to the arcades with my brothers.
However, after a lot of begging (and saving my lunch money), I was finally able to get one for my birthday. My first game was Tekken Tag Tournament. Sadly I didn't have a memory card for a while, so I'd barely experience...
24w ago - Founder of baKno Games Andres Martinez announced alongside a video trailer that Motorbike PSN revs up on PlayStation Network today.
To quote: Greetings PlayStation community! baKno Games is a small game development studio based in Florida and Motorbike marks our first home console release.
We noticed that there wasn't a game quite like Motorbike currently available on the PlayStation Network, so we took our love of extreme sports and stunt bikes and used it to bridge this gap.
As you might have gathered from the images, Motorbike is a 2.5D stunt bike trials game in which you use the controller to accelerate and balance while traversing ramps, hazards, and other obstacles.
The game features 80 original tracks, thousands of online courses (yes, you read that right, thousands), and 40 exclusive tracks immediately available for download. Motorbike also includes an intuitive and easy-to-use Track Editor, which contains all the same tools we used to create the original levels.
We've done our best to step it up for the PlayStation 3 release of Motorbike. In addition to 40-PS3 exclusive tracks, we've included a toolbox full of PS3-exclusive accessories, objects, hazards and doodads in the game's Track Editor.
25w ago - Black Forest Games Community Manager Dietrich Limper announced that Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams jumps onto PSN today with details below.
To quote: Good news! Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is available today, 19th June! Now that the wait is over, we'd like to share with you the history behind The Sisters.
Armin Gessert (code), Manfred Trenz (graphics) and Chris Hülsbeck (music) were the masterminds behind the original The Great Giana Sisters back in 1987. Their company back then was called Time Warp Productions and the final game was published for Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, MSX2, and Commodore 64 by Rainbow Arts.
The Great Giana Sisters is a 2D side-scrolling arcade game in which the player controled either Giana or her sister Maria. Each level contained a number of dream crystals which awarded points to the player. Enemies could be defeated either by jumping on them or shooting them after obtaining power-ups. The "Fire Wheel" transformed Giana into a punk with the ability to crush rocks by jumping beneath them.
As you can see, these old concepts of the game are still in place in 2013, especially the change to the punk version of Giana, but let's get back to the old days.
A certain other game publisher became aware of the game and the success and...
